Would it not be easier to capture your Error in your Global.aspx page?

void Application_Error(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
    Exception lastError = Server.GetLastError();
    if (lastError == null)
    {
       ErrorLog("An error occurred, but no error information is available");
    }
    else
    {
       ErrorLog(lastError.ToString());
    }
}
