I'm not sure this belongs in the lounge forum. Perhaps the ASP.Net forum would be better.
Additionally it's hard to say what you want really. Do you have any knowledge at all or are you totally new to this. Do you have programming experience? Do you want to increase skills or build something real... Is there a certain topic you'd like to tackle?

Seriously, don't try to "learn by doing" - get a book, or better a course, and follow it carefully doing all the exercises. That way you should meet all the topics in a sensible and structured manner, and nothing will be left out. Getting a random "project idea" and trying to do it without the background material to work from is a recipe for frustration and bad coding - because there is nothing to introduce you to the classes and techniques which would make your life a whole lot easier.

Not really - it depends on what language you what to end up using - .NET is a framework, and strictly ASP.NET is a website using .NET. So you could be looking at C#, VB, Javascript (client only), HTML, CSS, ...
Have a look at the Wrox and Addison-Wesley ones: they do some very good beginners volumes.

Quite some time ago I taught a class in beginners "C" - the class was all programmers from many other languages (and at that time, only 'C' was 'C-like'.
The first learning assignment I'd give them was a command line exercise. Get a character from the keyboard and print it to the command line. Then, extend it so that you can delete from the end; and from the middle. Finally, moved on to numbers only. These days, of course, mouse-input is the thing - but the idea is to get used to how many steps it takes to do even a little thing that they took for granted. Exercise two was to create a clock.
The above suggestion, get a book and do the exercises, is a good starting point - but you should have some sort of exercise of your own: making something that is fun - possibly extensible as you learn. (This also teaches you the pleasures of feature-creep).
Teaching myself 'C', my little fun project was a drawing tool used on an EGA text-mode screen. It was in this exercise that my style changed from using C but thinking in FORTRAN to actually programming in C. So - beginners project should be something that's a bit of fun. Open ended for embellishment. You get the additional lessons on how your idea of the right way to do things changes as you gain experience.

Aaaaargh! (Who cares about PITA). I don't kill ants or swat flies (if attacked, say by a mosquito or deer fly, I will defend myself vigorously). The later are captured and released out of doors.
The first thing I didn't kill was a spider. I had it on the end of a screw driver and was going to squish it and then I thought - what did this creature do to deserve death? I couldn't think of a reason and just put it back on the wall (to eat more pests, I suppose). Which is easier to bring back to life, if killed: a spider? you favorite pet? your favorite aunt?
With a moments reflection (and without seeking levity), taking a life; any life; is something to consider before the act is committed. You can't fix it when you break it.

I just had an idea, how about a continuation of the Matrix but instead of the original setting, in order to entice people to rejoin the Matrix, the machines offer various popular fantasy settings.
Think about
Matrix: Star Wars
Matrix: Dragon Ball Z
Matrix: Dungeons and Dragons
Matrix: Greek Mythology
Matrix: Star Trek
etc...
Basically, turn the Matrix into a huge live-action RPG with all the fixings. The characters get to live the fantasy. They could even offer vacation packages.
I think I would watch that.

An average TV series has 12 chapters in a season. That makes seven seasons about 84 chapters long, when each chapter is about an hour long...
I would like to see the man can persuade his wife of ANYTHING in 84 hours she didn't want at the beginning...
