Wow.. don't get mad at me? I was telling my opinion. Didn't you see the sentence started with " I don't think .."?
I may have gone a little too far. What I was trying to say was, that in my opinion, only 10% of the people who say they suffer RSI really do. The rest of them are just a bunch of 'clowns who should screw themself and the horst they rode in on" (?)

My neck and shoulders hurt ALL the time, and my arms hurt *most* of the time, and you want me to settle down when you say it's a farce ?

I still disagree. How can you possibly say that ? How can you tell ?

I think, Christian, it is time you dropped some of your free-time projects.
I don't know any other profession where people do for hobby the same thing they do at work. It is just too much.

Done that, weeks ago. Many screensaver features did not make it because I pretty much stopped, and I've not taken anything else on, except a Dr Dobbs article, which I can dictate to the PC with Dragon Naturally Speaking.

Somethings are hypes for example the internet and stock market, but there is also truth about it.
For me is it essential to know there is a (weekly) time limit for sitting in front the PC and working with the keyboard and mouse. It is in my experience about 50-60 hours.
Since I am working as pro it is also better for my overall health to do sports. And all my lifetime I didn´t like sports.
But I have to do it na it works.;)

Well, I think you need some more training: http://homokaasu.org/killeveryone/
I you can maintain over 500 kpm for at least 10 minutes without getting pain, only then you are skilled enough to add message handlers...
Signature? Can't remember it...

Before my current job (hi Steven!), I'd never used one. Having had one for a couple of months, I'm leaning towards evil. I've never had lower back or leg pains before, and now I do. The only thing that's changed from before is the chair I use.

Are those the black chairs made with the mesh type material for the seat and back?

I really enjoyed them. I especially liked all of the levers and gadgets that they have. But I no longer work at that job so I not longer get that enjoyment.
I noticed that my legs hurt every now and then in that chair, but my back felt really good in that chair. Also I would sit cross-legged sometimes and that seemed to solve my leg aches.
One other thing is they come in 3 sizes (A,B,C), are you sure you have the size that best fits your body type?

Perhaps you have it set up wrong? Or perhaps it's the wrong size for you. They come in a number of different sizes and when I was trying them out I found the ones that didn't fit to be very uncomfortable. Then it took me a while to get it set up correctly, since then it's been great.

I just now looked at the Herman Miller site and saw the different sizes... I'll have to see if I can get a bigger size, or heck just get a regular ol' chair.

Repetitive stress injury. An injury that results from doing the same motion over and over (such as typing).

I voted "none" of course. But for the last 1 year I have had recurring back pain and occasionally neck pain too. I also get sudden attacks of headache. I have a sinus problem at times but this is the no-sinus headache. I occasionally used to have migraines too during my teens.
And about an year ago I had severe eye pain and suddenly everything was blurry. Smitha thought I was blind. The doc said [I somehow managed to get there] that I had something called CVS which is Computer Vision Syndrome. During my teens I used to sit late at night with my computer and the lights used to be switched off too as everyone complained that the light reflected through the ventilator maybe all that has compunded with the fact that I sit in front for 16 hours a day.
