In English, in my experience, a crayon is a wax pencil (TM crayola) wrapped in paper and a pencil is a led core encased in wood (black or colored).
In french, crayon can be both led (and colored) pencil and if you want to specify was, then it is a "wax crayon" (crayon de cire)
I'd rather be phishing!

The ones that the dog eats are crayons, the ones that the cat eat are the colored pencils. In either case the gastric after effects are somewhat colorful.
It was broke, so I fixed it.

They're completely different things. These[^] are colored pencils and these[^] are crayons. Colored pencils are made out of graphite ("lead"), while crayons are made from a wax based material.

"When I was 5 years old, my mother always told me that happiness was the key to life. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down 'happy'. They told me I didn't understand the assignment, and I told them they didn't understand life." - John Lennon

It depends on which I'm talking about; the two are entirely different products. Crayons are wax-based markers which carry colorants, while colored pencils are more like chalk, as in sintered, finely powdered colorants. No relation.

When in front of the judge he asked her; First offender?
No she said first a Gibson then a Fender…
