VB engine for the Sonork Instant Messenger
Sample Image - sonorkvb.gif

Introduction

This is a small VB sample application that demonstrates the use of the Sonork IM Engine included as a DLL. Use it to add IM capabilities to your own VB projects. It supports UDP and TCP mode as well as uncompressed file transfers. Socks is supported by the engine, but not included in this release of the DLL. The full Win32 messenger may be viewed and downloaded from here. The TBL file should be referenced so that VB's syntax highlighting and checking work properly. The DLL was written using C++ and compiles on any Win32 compiler. The source codes for the DLL and, if you really want to get deep into this, for the full Win32 messenger are available at ftp://ftp.sonork.com/developer/. If you need more details or support, e-mail developer@sonork.com.

Enjoy!

I am sorry if I offended you Serge, please accept my apologee, it was in haste and an ill thought out post.
I stand corrected by you Serge and I should learn not to be rude.

Please let me explain.
Several of us here at CP especially in the lounge have started using sonork as an instant messenger in our collaborative projects. (We had to pick something)
We found a lot of benifits with the sonork IM and functionality.
I and another programmer petitioned Chris Maunder if we could get Sonork.com to post the source code(s) here at CP. Chris said quote "All cool Colin!"
So myself and another coder who you may guess who was,
Approached sonork.com about posting the code here and also supporting the code with answers in the messages here at CP, (you'd be interested to know Bjarne Stroudstrup was impressed with the code base also)
When we approached sonork.com we also asked them to look at sponsering code project in some way also,
Because we all wish to see CP grow and blossom.
This has all all happened in the last 72 hrs, and has cost myself and the other programmer a few International Phone calls and a fair bit of time organising.
Possibly you were not aware of all the talk about this in the Lounge and in the Rant and Rave, about this, but we too put a fair bit of work into getting this thing happening for CP and ourselves.
Naturally Chris has every right to pull this article from the site whenever his editorial decision dictates, But I think that would be bad for some of us programmers who really want to use this code.
And get problems answered.
Tenebril.com dumped and I mean dumped code on CP and have never supported it at all here, Now that is ugly!
Note when I jokingly posted my msg below that the code wouldn;t compile under VC++ the author hastly offered the C++ code base for us. So thats some service to start with!
Anyhow it is dificult to put regret into print,
But again I Sincerly apologise.

Also Serge searching under your Bio I could not find your articles, Have you changed your login or something.
