Why dont you get an extra, and bring it to your work and use it there?
I have done that with keyboards, because I love to have the same keyboard both at home and at work...

Why so few trackballers?
I assume $$$$ Around me they have always cost twice (or more) as much. The optical mice have been a great improvement.

I used a track ball for a while, but I had to quit because it started hurting my thumb joint. Has any one else had that problem?

Nope no problems. In fact, my Expert 7 with scroll ring probably saved my wrists. I had serious CTS for the longest time usinga mouse. After a couple of weeks with my trackball it's almost completely gone... now, if I can just do something about this keyboard.

I tried trackball but in everywhere people use normal mice(I mean ball is under it) and when someone using my mice s/he doesn't like or use it so I should go back to normal mouse.I also like normal ones
P.S. Normal Mice=Wireless,optical,at least 2buttons,1roller

I use both a trackerball and a mouse (sometimes at the same time). The only problem is that I use the trackerball left-handed (mouse right-handed) and have found it difficult to get a trackerball that is easy to use left-handed. The one I use is a simple one with no scroll wheel which can be used either handed. Anyone know of a decent laft-handed trackerball?
Tony.

I've tried using a trackball, but it just doesn't work for me. I think I lack the fine level of control in the thumb that they require. (or the patience to acquire it)
So at least for me, a trackball does NOT take far less effort to use nor is it more precise than a mouse.

I believe it just a figure of speech. It acutally means navigation.

It is what Antipodeans have to do when they enter the northern hemisphere.
Actually I think Chris just means navigating/using the desktop.

It means sticking out your hand, putting down all fingers except the mid -- oh wait, I think in this context, all it means is chanigng windows/navigating.
If your nose runs and your feet smell, then you're built upside down.

Hi,
Flipping means "turning of a graphic object from left to right or from top to bottom."

I thought it meant changing from one window app to another (ie Alt-Tab).
That's why I chose keyboard only.

Using the mouse slows you down, that's true.
Mostly I need a few hours to get a new shortcut into my fingers, before I use it without thinking.
But there is one kind of keyboard shortcut, that is nearly useless - the shortcuts with keys fon the right side of the keyboard. the left hand is my shortcut-hand, and the right hand is my mouse-hand. A ergonomic shortcut should be reachable with one hand

I need both hands on the keys - and I'm typically shortcutting with both, using the opposit Ctrl-Key.
So the worst thing for me is switching between mouse and keyboard. I don't even mind Mouse-only apps (not much, at least) - but half-keyboard-apps that get you stuck in a dead end you can only escape with the mouse make me (really) scream.
