When you have lots of tabs open in Visual Studio, your horizontal screen resolution determines how many will fit the Tab Well. You can't have too many tabs open in VS

Huh. I often have 30-50 tabs open (because I disabled that gawd-awful feature that creates a temporary tab) and I pin tabs that are related to stuff I'm currently working on, and occasionally I just clean-slate the whole mess.
Now, the key thing is, I hardly ever click on a tab. I know where, with Ctrl-Tab and Ctrl-Shift-Tab, I need to go in the set of files I'm working on. Oh, and I also remapped those keys so they don't bring up the time-wasting dialog of open tabs - I just want to cruise through the file tabs!
So frankly, if the tab bar were removed all together and it just had a list of files I have opened hidden in the background, I'd be quite happy. 
But I'm weird. My fellow programmers have often commented how I hardly ever touch the mouse in VS. I cringe when I see a "seasoned" developer use the mouse for Build => Build Solution or Debug => Start Debugging / Start Without Debugging. Learn the shortcuts or create your own! It may only take 2 more seconds to use the mouse, but those two seconds add up over a year!

I'm the same way, especially when they are trying to copy and paste text. I will say though, that in Sql Studio the Ctrl-Tab and Crtl-Shift-Tab don't always work the way I would expect. I need to find the shortcut for VS Code to switch between the many repositories I have open. Challenge, it's a Mac.

I just learned that here in Norway, for buses, electrically heating of the side mirrors is mandatory.
Some day, I guess electrically heated keyboards will be equally mandatory. At least when used between November and March.

I worked with vertical tabs on the left long before ... well, if you by 'internet' refer to the TCP/IP protocol suite, I guess internet did exist, but not in the www/browser sense.
Before MacIntosh and Windows, there was a lot of experimentation with different user interface styles. Every developer could do what ever he pleased; "mechanisms, not policy" was a mantra chanted all the time, especially in the open source community. So the developers did whatever they pleased. Every system was different. One major reason for the success of Windows / Mac was the consistency of the user interface. Users felt at home in it.
In the experimentation years (which lasted a lot longer in *nix environments than in others), vertical tabs were not uncommon. I even saw it in full-screen character based (25*80 ASCII characters) user interfaces.

No, a good jounralist like has spent a long time understanding their own voice and tone, which also makes them interesting reads because of that tone. Switching for the sake of what, some generalised noise
Also the whole general writing tools for grammar I am shifting more to no please. For as long as language has existed it evolved and shifted. Only in the last 100 has it hit a hard set of rules, and these tools only reenforce that requirement. Twitter was great for allowing wider and how people speak and not just how written lanuage should be.

This is already here, google is just trying to figure out how to make money. Most journalists these days, and I use journalist loosely aggregate from other sources (people who are making money selling news to journalists to lazy to do their own research). Or papers to cheap to hire real people.
Example: Multiple local news stations say the same thing verbatim - YouTube[^]
