Who'd fall for the Nigerian prince?
Who'd fall for the last remaining relative?
Who'd fall for the lottery winner?
Who'd fall for the virus on your computer?
Who'd fall for the naughty pictures they somehow have of you?
Sadly, plenty of people, or they'd stop doing it
In fact, an IT manager at a very high profile customer fell for it a few years back, got his computer locked
If IT managers fall for it (and I don't think the good ones will), the less IT inclined will certainly fall for it.

It's perfectly safe; it says at the bottom of the letter "Your private details will not be compromised at any time". So that's OK then. Does bring a new meaning to 'hot card' though...

I recognize the voice. It is Bob... in Bangalore.

To make matters worse, the shelf wants you to pick it up, it wants its paperback.

It is well established that the Karma Suture is a way to express a very low key way to sue someone.

They are independent. My guess is that quote is born of frustration with record companies who wanted to mould them.

dunno if it's a plan, but rock music generally requires [at least semi-] skilled artists, for example people that can actually play real instruments, and that means they expect to get paid; whereas the current rapping crap is simple even young and completely unskilled kids can do it.
- and as soon as there is any risk they look likely to develop some following the studio drops them gets another wannabe off the street.
so I'd say it's plain economics rather than any plan. (heck, developing a plan needs thought which takes too much energy, easier to just ditch any "artist" (yes that term very loosely used) that comes in asking for [more] money.)

Seen the Dregs a couple of times, Dave LaRue -> killer bass player, he has to be if he's going keep up with Steve Morse. Speaking of the Dregs, I think Andy West (another killer bassist) ended up working in IT if I'm not mistaken.

I like Andy West a lot. The last I heard of him he was teaching bass in the Bay Area.
The first time I heard the Dregs was on an old radio show called the King Biscuit Flower Hour and they broadcast a live show of the Dregs that was really good. I bought a couple of their albums the very next day.
