well really my week ended yesterday, 5PM didn't do a lick of work all day.

Finally an article I really appreciated, Lars de Ridder's Stop tech-driven problem-solving[^]

Once in a while I'd see articles and surveys on stuff like blockchain, and think to myself should I really learn that crap - I mean the intent is there and I start reading up, but run out of steam and the eyes start closing about 2 minutes in ('5 minutes' would be lying) - let's face it big data and/or learning hadoop - boring as hell. (Really, I still know nothing about big data except how to spell it, just the thought of what that means tells me it's a stupid idea.)

Lars article I read all the way because it was interesting, and it told me I was right to not waste energy on all that crap. Handy ref too, can slip it in the occasional correspondence for some of the easily fooled by the news customers.

Nice way to end the week: I could have wasted hours, days, weeks of my life on crap ad others even told me I should, but I didn't.
In short: blockchain etc is crap, but more importantly life is to short to waste on it.
