I've been waiting on a DP1.3 (single cable) 32" 4k/120hz or 5k/60hz screen to upgrade what's been my New Years Resolution[^] since 2010 or 2011. Availability of either is still MIA, so I'm continuing to maintain my old resolution of 4960x1600. Laugh |

I've also been desperately wanting a suitable sidepanel replacement for my 2007 era side displays; but 4:3 is totally dead. I've looked at other options; but don't want to go narrower than x1200 (it's still wide enough that x1280 webpages generally don't lose anything vital over the horizontal scroll, which wouldn't be the case at 1080). Height matching would need an ~18.5" 1920x1200 display; even if that and existed I'd still need to deal with variable DPI weirdness. The same resolution at 22.5" would give a DPI match; but again that's a size that doesn't exist. Sigh | :sigh:

If we don't go holographic first, maybe in 15-20 years Windows DPI scaling will get good enough, that I'll be able to height match a 300+ DPI screen that the actual resolution of no longer actually matters. Sigh | :sigh:
Did you ever see history portrayed as an old man with a wise brow and pulseless heart, waging all things in the balance of reason?
Is not rather the genius of history like an eternal, imploring maiden, full of fire, with a burning heart and flaming soul, humanly warm and humanly beautiful?

Training a telescope on one’s own belly button will only reveal lint. You like that? You go right on staring at it. I prefer looking at galaxies.
