Singapore is famous for it's malls and shopping centres, the locals go there to stand around and chat, enjoying the A/C and doing their shopping. Navigating these clumps of immobile pedestrians can be irritating if you have somewhere to go!
Enter the new pokemon thing and the zombie count has gone way up, crowds of people all peering at their phones waving them in the air and none of them are aware of their surroundings.
I predict a death or serious injury in the near future as one of these people blindly walks into the traffic!

7 so far, though not in one go, I had to navigate 2 shopping centres yesterday and there were clumps of them filling the entire walk way. I'm a bit like a mack truck in a swarm of motor bikes, generally they move out of the way but they were so focused on the game I got quite a few.

Here in Thailand there may be less of this due to the fact that most people understand that sidewalks here ... when they are not totally blocked by street-food vendors and other sellers, or not blocked by parked motorcycles, or a motorcycle actually speeding down the sidewalk ... are traps full of unmarked potholes, abrupt endings, and other hazards, designed to ensure the continuing prosperity of local orthopedic surgeons.
And, of course, sidewalks are dangerously near the roads where the number one method of birth control and population-culling in this country, vehicular homicide/suicide, is performed by insane drivers of all kinds of vehicles.
Of course, Pokemon Go, which has just "taken off" in Thailand, may change all that.
