I'm sure Osborne will throw his hat in the ring as well.
But...I wouldn't write off Boris. I suspect he works very hard at playing the fool...and that he is a lot brighter than he appears. I also suspect he'd probably make a very, very good PM simply because he seems like a total idiot, while all the recent ones have actually been idiots!

People seem to forget that Boris, while appearing to play the fool, was politically at the farthest right end of the tories. Without European rules to prevent him from doing unspeakable things to the country, and with a working majority, how long do you think it will be before he starts undoing a lot of the good legislation that is in place? You know, those regulations that protect workers and consumers rights?

No you don't. You vote for MEPs who have next to no power but very large expenses accounts and exist merely to give faux legitimacy to EU laws and regulations. The real business of the EU is conducted almost entirely by Commissions run by civil servants headed by unelected Commissioners with heads of State occasionally getting a look in when treaties need to be signed or amended.

There is no such thing as an elected Prime Minister in the UK. Never has been. If electors think they are voting for a prime minister then they're even bigger idiots than all the political parties take them for! In any case it won't be the Prime Minister negotiating but an army of department secretaries, ministers and senior civil servants for the most part.

It is the epical failurefor all british and european politicians that it came to that. After the clutter with Ukraine, Syria and the refugees no one with some brain is trusting these tricksters.
They get what they deserve, after making politics for some intellectual and business "elite"

So we are out - which is something I wasn't expecting (nor voted for).
I don't know what it's like where you are, but in the office here, there's mainly shock and disbelief.
However, and this is why I love being British, there's also a good deal of banter with all of our 'European' friends here in the office (which there are quite a number).
Suggestions have already been made to place any non-Brits on one side of the office only accessible by passport control - good ol' British sense of humour making the most out of a bad situation!

I don't know what your thoughts are, but I thought it was a bloody terrible campaign from both sides.
Far too much bad blood, mud slinging, arguing and fear tactics.

It was indeed.
Nothing positive from the remain side at all, just threats and scare tactics.
The degree of BBC bias left a nasty taste as well: if someone pro-remain said anything it was headlined: "PM says...", "Chancellor says...", "Obama says...". The pro-leave comments got third or fourth billing.

I've even gone so far as to stop watching BBC News or using the BBC Website as it's becoming so partisan on subjects it's quite embarrassing!

It the talking point everywhere as the stock markets have taken a hit and the GB pound has taken a hit as well.
General thought in the rest of the world is U K will now go into recession and hence the market crashes.
