But to be honest I can understand those who did report the post - it had all the signs of a stupid spam...
I tried to stop reporting the member, but was too late... Fortunately we can fix it, by asking the staff the reverse history...

For me, that makes marking the post as SPAM understandable; but to kick the person off this site (by marking the account as SPAM) seems way overkill for something like this.

Those two are follow almost automatically (and in case of a spammer rightfully) - in this case it was misinterpreted and for that I will ask to reinstall the member (what I would not do in case of real spammer)...

The problem is that marking a forum post as spam is also reporting the account.
I forget this sometimes like in this case.

You will find my name among those that closed the account. But I reported only the post and not the account.
I recognised this some time ago when reporting real spam and found the account to be closed already including my name when trying to report that too.
But this seems to apply to forum posts only as far as I know (not to Q&A posts).

So, you have an email that you think is spam but your email client hasn't caught it. Do you follow it? Do you let the spammer know that there's rich pickings there?

Way to go with a disproportionate analogy. That escalated very quickly. Given the same circumstances as in this thread, would I do it again. Definitely and without hesitation - armchair quarterbacks notwithstanding.

I did have a look at the link again and followed it all the way through and to my surprise discovered that it's actually an app - it's not satirical in nature.
There is an app that allows you to save files to your home computer - seriously! No wonder I thought it was satirical!
It was in fact spam - my bad!

Funny thing it is...As now I asked Chris to reopen the account, and he did...
Let see the next move of the member...we can wait with the next ban for now (sometime those spammers are post and forget)...

Not bad enough that the Panthers played like a bunch of tailor's dummies operated with knotted up strings pulled by blindfolded children or that their offensive co-ordinator's play calling was indeed offensive, nay outrageously stupid, I had to listen to bloody Coldplay at half-time. Four hours (four wee small hours to boot) that I shall never get back.

It was something that the Americans call "football", where the ball is never allowed to touch anyone's foot. The rules being:
- stand around for 10 minutes
- throw the ball around for 10 seconds
- jump up and down shouting "touchdown" with the ball held high above the head
- repeat for four hours
- stand around for a further ten minutes looking at the clock
- declare someone the winner

I watched a superbowl live some years ago (when the Broncos also won), but I don't remember any kicking; unless it was of the opposition.
