I never demanded. I always said "please".
I will take pics, when I do it, and I will share.
Now that I have read more, I will need time to get all the ingredients to do this and to plan. I thought it would be easy, but alas, I have botulism to worry about. ugh. I am committed to learning this, but it is not going to happen this weekend.

In a moment of fuzziness I started the VS 2015 Update 1 - it took 5 minutes to download and now I started the second hour of installation (on SDK 10 now)...I hope I will not regret it...

Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

So I finally click the upgrade to windows 10. Screen changes and says copying. Screen closes without said copy. Click on see upgrade progress. Get screen to 1) start download 2) remind me later.
Still waiting.

When I upgraded the icon that you suppose to use from the system tray kept hanging / failing for one reason or another
I eventually kicked the upgrade off from windows update.

I foolishly thought Microsoft would have the upgrade working.
I will try that this weekend. Thanks

That's part of another upgrade.

I got a popup asking me if I wanted to update now or later. I chose later. It installed anyway. Now my system is all messed up. I've got no start menu, no way to get to Settings and rollback to Windows 7. Many things (even task manager) don't work. I either get an error or nothing happens at all. Thanx a lot Microsoft!

Do yourself a favor. Don't do the upgrade!
My "upgrade" exploded spectacularly. No mouse or Keyboard during the beginning of the UI phase of Setup. Windows 10 never installed completely because of that. Oh, since Win10 never installed, my old Win7 could not be restored.
Even better, both my backups were rendered useless.
My ONLY option, if I wanted to keep everything on my hard drive, was to pull the drive out, install a new one (I highly recommend an SSD), install Windows 10 from media, put the old drive back in as a USB device so Windows doesn't try to boot off of it and copy everything off the old drive that I need.
Griff also had problems with the Update 1 install that he suspected had something to do with his "upgrade".

I learned a long time ago to keep data on a 2nd physical drive. At the most, I lose a handful of browser bookmarks. I had to reinstall windows last weekend, and the install took about 20 minutes, installing VS2013 and MS Office took about 30 minutes, and then I checked the updates - over four days, the updates that were applied totaled more than 3gb of downloads. I started the process at around 10 on Wednesday, and I wasn't able to actually use my machine for anything important until Sunday at around noon.
I'm running some sync software that I wrote to move files out of MyDocuments to a 2nd physical drive. I know I can change the location of the systems library folders, but I'm sure that even after doing that, there will some reason that any new version of Windows I might install can't/won't be compatible with that strategy, so I keep running my sync service.

Yeah, I've got that setup now. My primary is a SSD and the second drive is a 4TB where all of my stuff is now sitting.
I've got two backups running. The first is backing up to a USB attached drive. The second is backing up to Azure. You can never be too careful.
