I don't care about objective measures of code that make me want to SUBJECTIVELY PUKE when I work on it.

Red/Green/Refactor your way to happiness...

Make this commitment: Every file you touch to fix a bug, you will cleanup. You will at least make it 10% better. And using the testing along the way. try to fix as many bugs in one file as you can.

Eventually you will make your way through all of the files.

The sheer pride of knowing you are chipping away at the Technical Debt should carry you forward.

I will promise you, in a years time, you will look back and laugh!
