Does this mean you're expecting Scotland to qualify for the 2022 World Cup?
Some men are born mediocre, some men achieve mediocrity, and some men have mediocrity thrust upon them.

w00t! I was worried how you were fairing given the histrionics of the oil companies over the last few weeks.

It isn't very pleasant at the moment, with pay cuts and redundancies, our company has also decided to change the offshore guys rota pattern and that hasn't gone down too well.

I can imagine. Good job the independence vote went the way it did - must be a pretty big blow to the whole area.

Dave, congrats! Enjoy!
Now, for 'work' related stuff...
After having confirmed you wrote an articled about data historians (OSISoft PI system), and using the system myself, my question is: will you be using the PI system at your new digs? I know it is used heavily in the oil/gas industry.

Is the move planned on your part, or because of the cuts in the North Sea drilling?

Welcome to expat living, I hope you and your family enjoy it. It can be a challenge and a little lonely but if there is a good community it can be excellent. I hear Qatar is one of the better places for oil people.

«I'm asked why doesn't C# implement feature X all the time. The answer's always the same: because no one ever designed, specified, implemented, tested, documented, shipped that feature. All six of those things are necessary to make a feature happen. They all cost huge amounts of time, effort and money.» Eric Lippert, Microsoft, 2009

Do not start hating me today. Tomorrow I will give an even better reason!
Post sceduled for Tuesday [approx] 10:00 CET. Hint at 12:00 CET.
Guiltless of causing French peer transfiguration at the New York Twin Towers the English aristocrats exclaimed at four: "They fall from the High Line with vertical acceleration!"(10)
Guiltless: Gui
The New York Twin Towers: ll
exclaimed (Oh!): o
English aristocrats at four (Tea): t
from line: ine
Causing transfiguration (by) fall from high with vertical acceleration: Guillotine.
Where the peers in this case were the French aristocrats. And The High Line is a famous New York sight, that you could fall from. And if you think that the "Twin Towers: ll" are much too contrieved then you have forgotten DD's:
"Spectacles: oo"
or another time: spectacles: pp

- Guiltless: Gui - almost acceptable
- The New York Twin Towers: ll - definitely not
- exclaimed (Oh!): o - maybe
- English aristocrats at four (Tea): t - no way on earth
- from line: ine - seriously?

There are certain constructs which are used quite commonly in crosswords, so would be understood by most people. I have never seen Twin Towers used before, I assume it was just invented by you; and in reality, it should be represented by __.

Me!
Today, I have just done something that changes both mine and my family life massively. And it has sent a ripple of shock through work.
After 25 years, 4 months and 23 days (including today) I handed in my notice. I couldn't believe it would be so hard to tell them.
