The biggest time-savers are the Makita trimmer[^], and biscuit cutters.

I've only seen trimmers made by one other company (although many have small routers), but once you've used one, you'll wonder how you lived without it.

If you get all four sizes of collet for it, you can shop around for sets of inexpensive cutting tools.

If you send the missus to buy you a biscuit cutter, tell her to remember to go to a tool store, not a baking goods store.
