Whichever. I can't see those images. It's blocked.
Whatever Avenger that is, I know Spiderman isn't included. Poor Spiderman.

I'm not saying it was the best thing ever, but it wasn't as bad as its reputation made out.
- I liked having an extra icon's worth of space on the task bar instead of the windows button.
- I liked having the Windows Store/Fullscreen/Metro apps hidden from the desktop.
- I like the start screen. If you make all the icons smallest then you can get a whole lot of shortcuts onto it.
But today I can honestly say that I definitely preferred it BEFORE they added a title bar and a close button to the fullscreen apps...
I have been helping my Mum to print using the fantastic TeamViewer Touch and as I go to close a window on her laptop, I graze the top of the screen, the title bar slides down and now I've clicked the close button for TeamViewer instead of her browser window.
Great! I'm no longer connected and I have to go through all the fuss of reconnecting. It happened 4 times!!!!
I'm very upset.

I seem to recall something about repeating an action and expecting a different result being the height of stupidity. Like some poor sod putting sugar in his coffee you are going to have to change your motor habits, keep your dammed fingers AWAY from the top of the screen.
I have no experience with 8 or 8.1 and am happy to keep it that way for this year!
Never underestimate the power of human stupidity

Lucky you.

Exactly, I tried both and discovered even more ways to love Win7!

Seven is standard installation on all the work machines.
I have 8.1 on the lappie at home.
I am going to drag 7 out long enough to migrate to 9, (Assuming someone at MS has the sense to make 9 a business compatible OS and not one aimed at teenage girls using tablets).

A limp what?

Win 8 is a touch phone OS, not a desktop or lappie OS.
What works on a four inch screen is totally useless when used on a pair of 22 inchers.
By trying to unify all platforms in a single operating system, they ended up with the worst of all worlds.

I kind of agree, although I have warmed to a bit more recently. What they need is a mode which keeps it in the desktop with a traditional start menu, then it'd be fine I think.
I honestly can't see businesses migrating to Windows 8 at any point in the future. It would simply be a step down from Windows 7.

Rob Philpott.
