Sorry to hear about your friend, though. Labs are great dogs, and when bred with other dogs, tend to improve the strain. Perhaps the vet is right, and it's just a temperature related thing. I've known labs that made it 15+ years, and not in particularly nice climates. Keep your dog entertained and active, which along with good nutrition and hydration, will keep him/her youthful for a long time!

Sir,

15 years is a phenomenal time. However the more older they grow, the sweeter they look. I actually cant beleive the temeperature related thing because my lab was used to detect bombs in harsh climatic condition. Actually i feel, sniffing strong chemicals has taken a toll on him.

They are basically sniffer dogs. In my Dad's office they used take my lab to periodically check trains for explosive materials.

Now the Vet has advised to give him lot of water so that the chemicals flush out of his body as soon as possible.
Otherwise he is a very playful dog.

He plays a joke on the fact that both "Labrador" and "Laboratory" can be shortened to "Lab". Now he's referring to an illegal Meth Laboratory, which has nothing to do with a Labrador.

we do have bears, but oh oh ok now i get it. Yes i have heard from my friends, but could not co-relate. Yes in the Himalaya mountains they do reside.
