A TV will have a larger RGB LCD matrix as it's designed to be viewed from further away.

Look up close to your monitor you will struggle to see the separate RGB elements, do the same with your TV and you should be able to see them clearly.

If you do go down the TV route use an HDMI lead as the picture quality will be better.
