I was working out at the gym when I spotted a sweet young thing walking in ......
I asked the trainer standing next to me, "What machine should I use to impress that lady over there?"
The trainer looked me over and said, "I would recommend the ATM in the lobby."

I am straining to get this analogy: is it possible you are using "pebble-dashing" as defined in the Devil's Dictionary: warning: gross content: [^].
“But I don't want to go among mad people,” Alice remarked.
“Oh, you can't help that,” said the Cat: “we're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad.”
“How do you know I'm mad?” said Alice.
“You must be," said the Cat, or you wouldn't have come here.” Lewis Carroll

Don't strain too hard
No - just means it makes it slower and uglier.

My home town, Crawley, is one of those proverbial "Polaroid moments" of all that is vile in architecture and building practice. There are some very tatty suburbs where pebble-dashing is rife. It looks vile when it's raining; it looks vile when it's sunny. We don't have any around our streets thankfully but in the 50s-built housing there is lots of it.
If there is one thing more dangerous than getting between a bear and her cubs it's getting between my wife and her chocolate.

...until Olaf Pooley is 100 years old.
Who he?
Wiki[^]
Piccy from 1970[^]
Pooley was born in Poole, convenient that!
If he makes it he will be the only male actor to have appeared in Dr Who to make it to 100 years old (And only the second person ever)
He is also the oldest living person to have appeared in Star Trek.
And one of only 14 Living actors to have been in Star Trek and Dr Who.
(Deep Roy is the only actor ever to have appeared in ST,DW and SW!)

Need I say more? YES!!!
I did a change of address for license and car last March (have a confirmation!).
Login to see when this years 'fees' are due and see that the change of address they confirmed 11 months ago was rejected a few days later. No idea why and no notification even though they have my email address.
There is a 90 minute wait on the phone and no email address available. I paid the fees anyway and now I have to hope that the mail redirect actually still works (paid through until March).
Tried to do it online but the system rejected my details even though I took them off the registration.
WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!
Going to drop by the AAA and see if they can help.

We need national healthcare so we can get this same outstanding level of service in life or death situations too!
To whom it may concern: Please don't respond with serious comments about the merits of nationalized healthcare. This was a joke. Pure & simple! No need to turn it into a Soapbox discussion. If you feel you must respond in some fashion and believe that the US government is the best choice for dispensing healthcare to Americans just vote the message down.
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. ~ George Washington

Yes. Start from what is DMV and AAA. No really. I guess these are US based government agencies to get driver permits.

there are some more who feel irritated when potential employers say, "We will get back to you" and never do? I would appreciate them telling me why they don't want me. Really, that will help me ahead.

Yes, it would be nice to have a reason, but, I don't think many companies will give you a reason.
Perhaps a 'thanks, but no thanks', but I think even that has gone the way of the dodo since resumes are now predominately electronic.
A shame really...
