at the last 2 minutes of the 3rd quarter i told my tv to shut down ... kinda boring that game and in Germany it already was nearly 4 AM

So, it's a nice day, and I decide to take my daughter to the movies. Going into the shopping center, we're walking toward the escalator when I hear a loud thud / splat. My daughter caught the motion out of the corner of her eye.. Guy, sitting on a railing on the 3rd level falls over backwards.
Something no one really needs to see, and how he didn't land on someone (mall was crowded), I don't know.
The only reason he is alive is because he hit the 2nd floor railing that slowed him. Police report says he was in his 40s, is now in serious condition. Just prior to his gravity experiment, a security guard saw him on the railing and told him to get down.

*YOU* are evil!  seriously, I can see this security person at minimum wage saying, "Hey! Get down from there!!!" And the guy thinks... ok.... (literal interpretation).
I know when you are a teenager you think you are invincible, but seriously - by 40, you should know it hurts to fall down. Compared to what I used to do as a teen, I am so woosified...

I think about that every time I watch AFV. When you see what the kids do and get away with, it really is a wonder that anybody survives childhood (myself included).

A couple of years ago some plonker at our local mall was messing around and fell 20m to his death. He also didn't hit anyone before slam-dunking the concrete.
Ironically, it happened outside Boots pharmacy. Would you like aspirin for that headache? Travel insurance?

Pretty close. I didn't want to stare as some things you ought not to stare at (I seriously thought the guy was dying). Apparently, they have a couple of suicide jumpers every year.

Bleh, so more of the story comes out - turns out it was a suicide attempt, this would be the third one in the last 12 months. I expect to see heavy duty netting installed soon.
