I am working on an image editor app for a VB.NET class in college. I have been looking for code for a image display control that can zoom, pan, and be scrolled. Our professor is allowing us to use other people's controls as long as they are cited as being the creators of the control.
I've tried writing a UserControl to do this, but it's ugly. I get a lot of flashing (from Invalidating) when I scroll, and I know there's errors in my math somewhere because I can't always scroll back to where I started.
I'd also like to get a good old magnified pixelated look when I zoom, but instead I'm getting the bi-linear or tri-linear filtering. Is it possible to get around this and just get blockiness?

I have a usercontrol and one of it's members is a type safe collection (inherited from CollectionBase.DictionaryBase).
Now I want this collection to be bindable (read-only) to a datagrid. I have added the attribute Bindable(True) to the property and implemented IListSource in the control and returned this list from GetList() overloaded function but it doesn't show up in the datagrid's bindings.
What step(s) am I missing?

Hello
When I place a control at design time, normally, I can move the control by pressing UP DOWN LEFT RIGHT keys after selecting.
But nowadays I can't. When I press UP or DOWN or LEFT or RIGHT button; Vb.net moves the form, not the control.
Also when I right click one of the controls the commands wihch are Cut Copy Delete are disabled in the popup menu.

You haven't said what control your trying to place. Is a standard toolbox control or a user control.
Also, is this a web or windows form and does this happen to all controls you now place?
It is possible to lock a controls position but the outline normally looks different to that shown in your screenshot but just check the controls properties and you should find a property named locked.

I already know the Lock property (in the popup menu)
But the problem is not connected with it. There is no problem on placing.
After placing when I try to move one of "ALL" objects it causes.
They are not locked.
Also I cannot use "CTRL+C" keys to copy or "Delete" keys to remove a control when this happens.

How can you define the length of a MenuItem in pixels in vb.net when you set... Ownerdrawnmenu to TRUE.
Problem: a MenuItem have a font (... Arial 8).
This MenuItem contains a Icon
This MenuItem contains a text (perhaps also a &-sign)
This MenuItem contains perhaps a Shortcut
This MenuItem refer to another Menu
Can this also in the menuheader?
(I think yes... I'm sure for the Icon... but I'have problemes with the length when I got the cursor on It...

Hi,
I am new to vb.net and to this forum. Can anyone let me know how i can hide a listview column?
I am using the standard listview control available in the windows forms. I have set the view of the listview as Details. I need to hide the first column and for that i set the width property of the first column to zero. This makes the list view column invisible during the runtime. However if i place my cursor on the listview header and drag the same, the first column appears.
Is there anyway to hide the firstlistview column?

Hello,
There is no other way to do it. You implemented is right thing. I just have a additional to tell you.
Assign ColumnResize value to none means one can not resize the column. Then while filling data in ListView calculate the length of the record which you are filling currently. Then assign the record lenght value to the column width. By doing this, you will able to see full length data in your ListView without facing problem.
Example for consideration:
Dim iLenght as Integer ' Lenght of the record
Dim iPrevMaxLength as Integer ' Length of previous record
iLength = 0
iPrevMaxLength = 0
While(rs.EOF != NULL)
'Todo part
.....
.....
.....
.....
iLength = len(rs.CurrentRecord)
if iLength > iPrevLength then
ListView.Column(index).width = iLength
iPrevMaxLength = iLength

That is just enough to sign a rectangle round a icon (16*16) of 2 pixels width...
For instance I want tot use it in the header...

if the Collection you are using is the one priovided by the .Net Framework(i.e. arrays, Arraylist etc.) you can just use:
Collection.Sort
But if the collection you are using is inherited, then you'll have to do the coding yourself.

I have created a database query spreadsheet that pulls Customer ID's and corresponding Job ID's. There are a lot of calculations in this. I am using it as a reference for a separate Time Entry spreadsheet. If I use the Time Entry spreadsheet, I need to have the reference open. That might be too much for the user. I have 3 questions.
1. Is there a way to write a script that will open the reference and keep it invisible?
2. Should I just copy the cells from the reference into the timesheet and hide the tabs?
3. Will the CPU Usage be saved by choosing eother or will it stay the same?
