You desperately need to go to Mexico and purchase a sense of humor!

I did snort with laughter, I just find it a bit odd that everyone seems to regard the Apollo missions as either fake or a joke. Would love the Indians/Chinese to go up there grab a bit of the Apollo junk left on the surface and bring it back.

If they can find any.
Just joking. I believe it really took place.
It would be impossible to fake given that the Russians (at the time) were able to track the mission from lift off to landing in the ocean back on earth.

In spite of all the objections from the dullards that have no sense of humor, I thought it was brilliant.

Posting the same reply to numerous other postings does not mean you have a sense of humour!

If that is anything like British humour, then no.

I did too! I wish commercials were half as entertaining!

As some may already know I will finish my apprenticeship by the end of June this year and then join the Airforce (radar stuff) until end of November.
Ending my apprenticeship is sort of a big step: I will be a fully qualified Junior Software Developer afterwards, and there is a chance that I will be offered a job within my current company. However, I don't want to bet for that, and since we are undergoing major budget cuts the possibility that they will not offer me a job is there, that being the fact why I am looking around for myself a bit, too.
So here is the question: Any recommendations what I need to take care of?
Anyone knowing a company hiring Junior Devs (C++, C#) by the end of this year?
I am not really picky of the country and the industry, even though I'd prefer a job in the US, Canada or Europe and staying within the Medical Diagnostic Company.
I'd be also very happy if you could add any thoughts and/or experience you have on job search.

Junior Dev, Decent salary, the two are mutually exclusive aren't they?

It seems that you got my point.

I can live with an average salary, for the moment I am happy if my salary after the apprenticeship is going to be enough to pay a Car, the rent, food, a few beers on the weekend and a few days abroad each year.
So an average salary would be fair enough, it will beccome decent as soon as they see me doing a good job.
By the way, since I know what company you work for: In which field of it are you working in?
As I stated to Ravi, most companys are hiring people who need to have a Master or BSC degree, which is not gonna work for me.

Sorry for being cynical but it took me 8 months to find a job after being graduated from university.
And yes I know that the answer to "what can you do with a Masters Degree in Mathematics" is drive a truck!

I would think there would be openings within the large multi-national company you're currently working at. That would be an excellent way to grow and get real-world experience, IMHO.

The vocational departement is acctually already in contact with the Development departments, but recent budget cuts are making me to look out for a backup, if everything fails. Furthermore, a company with a bit of a better culture may be a safer bet than my current employer.
The problem I am currently facing is indeed that there are many jobs open, but about 90 % of them require a University degree (BS, Master or something similar), which I do not have at the time (I still stand here and say that a good Apprentice can beat an average BS or Master programmer, but HR personell udually doesn't think the same way).
