Love it! Learning Python, quite quickly for a 57-year-old.

I'm not familiar with Codecademy's offerings as I have not been working in the languages they teach.
As for where to go next, coursera.org[^] offers many classes covering a wide range of languages and concepts. I'm also in the middle of two courses (self-paced) from https://www.udacity.com/[^].

Sorry, this won't mean much to anyone outside the UK.
Above my head in the office is a TV showing the news. I can't hear it, but I can see it is following the three Police chiefs who have been summoned to explain their actions over the 'plebgate' affair to a panel of MPs.
Where did this thing come from? I thought that unless you broke the law in this country you didn't have to account for your actions to anyone. Whilst I can understand public servants being called like today, and Chris Patten for the BBC previously (as this is ultimately reporting to your superiors), Murdoch has also been summoned and he doesn't even live here.
It's like being called to the headmaster's office and having the whole thing televised. I don't care for it, even though the three today do have some explaining to do.

Trouble is, on the one hand you have the Metropolitan Police, who almost nobody trusts to tell the truth, and who famously cover up for each other.
But...on the other hand you have a politician.
So my guess is they are all lying.
Why is it public? Because there is a general election in a year or so, and the government wants to be free of the stink of elitism in time to tell us they are just like normal people...
The only instant messaging I do involves my middle finger.
English doesn't borrow from other languages.
English follows other languages down dark alleys, knocks them over and goes through their pockets for loose grammar.

I know an MP quite well and he is not, I can assure you, a millionaire. They may all be scum bags of the highest order but at least tarnish them with the correct brush!

That, whether true or not*, is of far less import than the fact that an elected representative of the people felt compelled to resign his post because of an unlawful, undemocratic campaign, which was callously orchestrated by members of an organisation whose job it is to protect the law and the democratic principles of the nation.
IMO, the officers involved should be charged with treason, even if Mitchell is a tory.
* Probably not. During the fuss about expense claims, he was all but ridiculed for claiming tiny amounts for simple office supplies, not for claiming fortunes for floating duck palaces.
