I rather suspect that 8.2 will bring some fairly major concessions to end users, given that some of the barriers to success were pushed, have voluntarily resigned.

The problem there being that they'll probably be replaced by uncreative stuffed suits.

That's pretty much Blamers Plan: move us all away from PC's and to Microsoft Devices.
I don't know about you, but I find coding on a tablet with a "soft" keyboard and no mouse to be strangely relaxing. Particularly when I removed C# from my Nexus 7 so I wouldn't try and do it again...

As there is a move towards Ultrabooks, a touch screen UI really does start to make sense. I've been using Ultrabooks for about a year now, and I find going back to my ordinary laptop is very frustrating.

I confess that I keep tapping my laptop screen, so a hybrid isn't a bad idea, but to get full mouse/keyboard functionality, multi-touch would have to be extended to ridiculous levels -- similarly to the problem with modern FPS games, where it takes 13 fingers to tap all the keys required (in the right order, of course) to aim and shoot a gun.

I have never tried it.

Question: Can you upgrade an existing Windows 8 version or do you need to reinstall the works?

Theoretically, you should just be able to upgrade the Win8 version (effectively it's W8 SP1).

I haven't actually tried it yet (hence the reason I refuse to say "definitely").

Why on earth would you want to reinstall The Works[^]

Probably, but nothing that you can change in two weeks... it is a pity to see those people who are representatives of a society to perform that way...

You are severely overestimating the British ability to learn foreign languages. I learned French for 3 years at school. All I remember is "Le singe est sur la branche", and that was via Eddie Izzard. I'm not even sure about the spelling, but that doesn't seem to matter in French anyway, seeing as they only sound about 50% of the letters.

I was not implying that any English person could learn perfectly any other language under the sun in two weeks, I was simply saying that, in those two weeks, anyone could speak any language better than that woman in the video speaks English...

Oh dear, I wouldn't like to be in your shoes when OG finds you described him as English.
