You are severely overestimating the British ability to learn foreign languages. I learned French for 3 years at school. All I remember is "Le singe est sur la branche", and that was via Eddie Izzard. I'm not even sure about the spelling, but that doesn't seem to matter in French anyway, seeing as they only sound about 50% of the letters.

I was not implying that any English person could learn perfectly any other language under the sun in two weeks, I was simply saying that, in those two weeks, anyone could speak any language better than that woman in the video speaks English...
