As written, your "s are not correct and DateFrom is shown twice, but I'll assume those are just typo's.
Make sure that DateFrom and DateTo are showing up as strings. I guess I forgot to mention that, and that they need to be enclosed in quotes. I usually create a string variable to check while debugging.

Two warnings:
1.
IIRC the SQL BETWEEN keyword is a bit dangerous as different implementations use different definitions; the issue is inclusive versus exclusive, i.e. does an exact match with a border get included or not. Read the doc, or use explicit comparisons.
2.
Use SQLParameter to avoid all datetime formatting and regional settings issues; it's much better/cleaner/safer than string concatenation anyway.

Hello,everyone! Now I use the method "selectsinglenode" with xpath to search in my XML, I find a stranger question.In my project, when I used this method at first, it didn't get the node that I wanted, so I created a new project to try the xpath, it could got the node now.(The same xpath and same XML file) Then I deleted some controls in my project which was about the method(not the new one), create new, then the method could find the node!
I can't understand it, same xpath, same function,same value,why it happens?

Does anyone know of any third party (i know this is where I have to go) vb library that can search the contents of a zip file without unzipping the file? This will also have to happen when I have to add a file as well.

Uhhh, to find out what is inside a compressed file, you will have to uncompress at least part of it. Whether you save the uncompressed files or quit before it's finished is another matter.

You could have Google Desktop[^] index the zip-files and query that. It supports .zip, but I'm not sure whether it also indexes the contents of those archives. If it doesn't, then there's probably some plug-in available that does

What do you mean by that? Do you mean without unzipping the file to the file system? Because you are going to have to have access to the uncompressed data at some point to search it. You might try searching for something that allows you to uncompress zip files to a stream rather than a file... that would at least keep it in memory, then you could perform a search on that data.
This might provide some guidance. Not sure about that though, as I've not tried zipping/unzipping from .Net before.

I just wrote an article/tool that used this to create zip files without any problem, and did notice during this process, there were methods for interrogating the zip file, but didn't need this functionality so didn't explore these any further.

You can use SharpZip to VERY easily query the zip file to see what filenames, the compressed size, ect... is in the zip file. If you want specific code just shoot me an email. I have a somewhat near complete example of using VB 2005 to zip/unzip .zip files which includes doing what you want as well.

I wonder if anyone can help or give me advice before I start this vb project. All VB systems I have done before, the printing off crystal reports direct to printer was straight forward. Now I have to put my output first to a print queue to be printed off at a later date. What would be the best way of doing this? I will be using vb.net 2008 along with SQL Server. I have a couple of ideas but in short don’t know where to start. I thought putting the text file to some area in a database but how could this be done.
Any ideas would be gratefully appreciated.

Personally, seems to be not really a VB.NET question but more of a general question...
Not a whole ton of details here so the suggestion is a bit week, but if all you are trying to do is delay printing a report then create a small service app that wakes up and looks in a folder on a schedule for a file (maybe a your report printed to PDF) and then if it is there sends it to the printer on schedule?
There is a bunch of details missing here though... maybe you could elaborate a bit more?
Not really sure why you would want a report generated on one day and then not printed until another latter date.

The idea is rather than print straight away put the print to a queue then print later on the day. User request and I do as I am told. Not high enough up the chain.
I like the idea of creating a PDF and then display all the prints. Then select the print you want. I would then run a procedure every couple of days to remove un printed documents.
Do you think this is the best idea?

NOTE: This is the most basic for of encryption (XOR) and is not really that secure by todays standards.
I suggest you search google for RSA256 as a minimum, or other encryption standards.

First, there's no such thing as VB.NET 6.0. It's either VB.NET or VB6.
Second, you can't put a password on a file. NTFS does not support it. You'd have to write a file system extension to mimick some kind functionality like this, which cannot be done in VB6 or VB.NET.
Or, you may be able to encrypt the file, but you'd have to decrypt it again to use it, defeating the purpose of the encryption.

I have a user for whom a VBA application in MS Access ceased to work properly after upgrading to office 2k7. I stepped through the VB code and this is what I am seeing in the Form_Current sub:

The Me.Attachments.Form.RecordSource property, normally should change after being explicity set like that, but on this user's machine, it isn't. The propery is remaining "attachments" returning the entire table instead of what is specified in the query. This only seems to be happening for this user so far so I don't think it is a code issue. The .mdb file itself is not read-only and is up to date as far as I can tell. The Trust center settings also appear to be correct as well, allowing macros to be run. No errors are thrown when the code attempts to change the recordsource property, only that nothing happens and the property remains unchanged.
Any ideas?

I have a copy of the .mdb file on my own machine along with office 2k7, approximating the same environment and I have determined that the property will change as it should after stepping it. Truly bizzare.
