Given such a basic open question, maybe you should have searched google first, might have been quicker than waiting for an answer on here.

NOTE: This is the most basic for of encryption (XOR) and is not really that secure by todays standards.
I suggest you search google for RSA256 as a minimum, or other encryption standards.

First, there's no such thing as VB.NET 6.0. It's either VB.NET or VB6.
Second, you can't put a password on a file. NTFS does not support it. You'd have to write a file system extension to mimick some kind functionality like this, which cannot be done in VB6 or VB.NET.
Or, you may be able to encrypt the file, but you'd have to decrypt it again to use it, defeating the purpose of the encryption.

I have a user for whom a VBA application in MS Access ceased to work properly after upgrading to office 2k7. I stepped through the VB code and this is what I am seeing in the Form_Current sub:

The Me.Attachments.Form.RecordSource property, normally should change after being explicity set like that, but on this user's machine, it isn't. The propery is remaining "attachments" returning the entire table instead of what is specified in the query. This only seems to be happening for this user so far so I don't think it is a code issue. The .mdb file itself is not read-only and is up to date as far as I can tell. The Trust center settings also appear to be correct as well, allowing macros to be run. No errors are thrown when the code attempts to change the recordsource property, only that nothing happens and the property remains unchanged.
Any ideas?

I have a copy of the .mdb file on my own machine along with office 2k7, approximating the same environment and I have determined that the property will change as it should after stepping it. Truly bizzare.

What have you done so far? For instance, have you found out if you can access the font parameters dynamically?

I have text File, the contents of text file is only "asd" and in my next line "masy".
Now i want to read this text file by the ReadLine Method so,

The Above Code works fine but when i studied in google about this objReader.peek(),its going to check character by character if there is no character it will return -1.
But when i execute this ,for the first loop my objReader.Peek() will have ascii code of a and in next loop it will be ascii code of m.
I am confused about this concept objReader.Peek().
please Can u help me

Simple way to look at it.
Each file has a file pointer that points at the next character available for reading.
The Peek will look to see if there is another character in the file at the file pointer.
If there is not it returns -1.
So it enters the loop and reads a line from the file.
If the file only contains one line this put the file pointer at the end of the file.
The next Peek then looks and finds no characters at the position pointed too by file pointer so returns -1, and the loop is done.
The Peek does not track down the file character by character it just looks at where the file pointer is pointing at, and that gets moved every time you do a read.

Hi,
for file I/O you don't need Peek() at all, just create a loop and test the ReadLine() result, see here[^].
And for small files, read all at once using File.ReadAllText() or File.ReadAllLines().
You would need Peek() pr some other blocking call if the data is streaming in slowly, say in networking; but not for files.
