The Reputatation page made it very clear that we're still tweaking these values and still trying to ensure that reptuation best reflects a person's contributions. Nothing has been "thrown at you" and in terms of participation these points are for actions you have already done.
Our latest change was to ensure that the reputtion system matches up with the voting system, in that points are weighted by member level. Nothing has been thrown at you - what we have done is make a correction to points you should already have had.
Participation is your personal choice, but I am working very hard to try and ensure our site can shine a spotlight on those members who work their guts out helping others.cheers,

I understand and appreciate all that (i.e. the intentions, not all the changes, the discussions, and some inconsistencies).
And yes it reflects the past; but it also influences the future, that is what a rewards system does, intentionally or not.

Just adding to Luc's reply, I see that my points have come down. Not that I'm worried about it, but you should investigate if it's a bug. I don't know which one went down particularly, but the overall score has come down.

It's the Organizer points that has took a dip... as already discussed in one of the thread above[^]
Looks like we all were waiting for another jump while recalculation was on and we got a dip this time

Same here. Want to edit some posts with crap formatting, but can't edit due to "lack of" rep points. Why can the system not update itself without bothering with something that's running smooth?!

I do not know if the updates are complete or not, but at the moment, participant rep points do not match in the Professional Profile and Graph section.Me, I'm dishonest. And a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest.

Correct. They were different, and that was what the latest recalculation was about. They still are different. I can't start to imagine why they need to be anything but two very similar views on the same set of numbers.

One is a cached total of the other. These were out of sync due to an error in a SQL script.cheers,

I just edited a question in Q&A where someone was SHOUTING all the way through the question, so I decided to make all letters that didn't need to be uppercase to lowercase, which took a little while since I had to type every single word in lowercase.

You could have just copy/pasted the code into Visual Studio, used the functionality in the editor (Ctrl+U), and then copy/pasted back to the message. .45 ACP - because shooting twice is just silly

Participant points in Professional Profile (or Who's who) are showing wrong data for everyone.
It looks like, apart from signing up 100 points(or any other newsletter points), the participant point calculation of adding 1 point on per day login has started from Yesterday.
P.S.: Reputation graph shows correct participant points for everyone. Issue is only in Professional Profile page.

I did another run but it looks like we didn't catch the sign-in point properly, again. We have these points in the system, but our totals are out of sync. I'll get this correct today using a less burdensome method than a full rep-recalculation.

I noticed right now that the "View All Question" or Latest in Q&A is not getting latest data. (Though might be some caching thing, but does not look like) Few hours old data sitting there.
P.S.: Though 'Unanswered section' is working fine and has latest data.
UPDATE1: Looks like a bigger issue. Data is getting updated for 'All questions' but filtered. Lots of questions are missing that are being asked and answered. Definelty not a caching issue now.
UPDATE2: I found a new link "Show Viewed/Hide Viewed" link at the top of page. This was the culprit for me!  modified on Sunday, March 14, 2010 5:27 AM

Can we have this 'Show/Hide Viewed' link default to Show all for now? This would help in having the same look and feel to everyone that they are used to. Hidden by default for now make it look confusing.
