I've searched far and wide and found nothing. Maybe you guys can help me out with one tiny problem.
I have an win32 app created in visual c++ 2005 that has an editbox that changes its background color to red depending on the amount. In windows XP it works fine even if the focus is not anymore on the editbox. My problem starts in windows vista when the focus is not on the editbox the background color becomes white. If you set the focus on the same editbox it goes back to red.
Is it a limitation in windows vista or should I add extra code to my application?

I want to find my application main icon. I am using this code for finding the resource.
hResource = FindResource(hLibrary, MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDR_MAINFRAME), RT_ICON);
i wanted to know that what value i should pass in MAKEINTRESOURCE macro for my application icon.

For MFC SDI and MDI applications it is usually IDR_MAINFRAME.
You can check this from Resource View (View -> Other Windows -> Resource View).

I used WMI to get the information of all physical and logical drive information of the system. It works fine with windows XP. But WMI fails to in Windows Vista and Windows 7.
I think because of Securities issues? If yes then how can I bypass these?

WMI needs administrative privileges even for XP.
You can always run you're application requiring elevated privileges in Vista onwards.

I assume the problem is with the password you don't have and not with actually opening the CDatabase Object ?

I have Set the 96DPI . But problem is that this is showing that my Dpi is 96. but the Screen has no any effect. but if i restart the system . All the requirement has fullfill. but i dont want to restart my Computer. so Please help me. how can i acheive my prob.
