yes, i want to access the default.aspx page from my ftp
it is also placed under wwwroot file so that after uploading it i can able to see it on net. i really m sorry if i m going somewhere wrong.
i have already placed all my files under wwwroot folder.
now the thing is i cant able to access any of the .aspx pages from there.
i have used filezilla to transfer my files.
i have even tried to publish website utility but it was of no use

I would rather use the Copy Website[^] option in Visual Studio to transfer the site.

Hi,
I would like to design a master page in asp.net 2.0.
It should have a header, footer, leftpane for treeview and right pane for content placeholder.
I have done everything but my problem is it should auto fit to any screen resolution.I am able to do that for width, but not for height.I dont want to get even a vertical scroll bar.
In simple i want to develop a masterpage similar to msdn library website
http://msdn.microsoft.com/hi-in/library/w0x726c2(en-us).aspx[^]

AFAIK, MSDN use inline frames to display the content area. So that you can scroll only that part keeping all other fixed. Have a look at iframe[^] HTML tag.

I use visual studio 2005. I have compact .net 3.5 framework with 2.0 and 1.0 also. I want to use ajax update panel for that i download'd toolkit and .net 3.5sp1. Aftr intalling 3.5sp1 still unable to intall toolkit it's giving error that this is compatible with newer version. I guess this problem is b'coz of visual studio 2005. But is there any way i can instal and use ajax controls without installing visual studio 08.. And i used 08 but uninstalled it becoz of drag drop controls..how to make drag drop control more versatile so that i can drag drop to any position of page(ther is no layout option in 08) how to enable it?

But this will not work in VS 2005, You need to VS 2008 to use .NET 3.5 SP1.

It working *u rocks lol* n if i needa enable drag drop to anypart of page in vs08 what i have to do for that coz there is no layout-position..

If you makes the Layout position as absolute , then you can able to drag-drop control to any part of your page.
Note : This is not a good designing Approch. If you want to developed a site for multiple browser with proper allignment always do it from aspx code page, rathar than drag-drop control.

I know it's not gud approach..even i don't use..just it makes me feel comfortable thats why i use ,drag the items to desired place but then i remove style part and put it into table..it just let me feel easy. Neways updatepanel is giving error.."the control with id updatepanel1 requires a scriptmanager on the page. The scriptmanager must appear before any controls that need it." now what is this error. I added 2 dropdownlist and altering them according to selected choice, for that i created a event and writen the code to altr the dropdwnlist..what is this script problem now

You need to add ScriptManager before you put Updatepanel in your page
Please Have a lookinto this site, You can get all kind of practical example here
Introduction to the UpdatePanel Control

Web services communicates as SOAP messages which have XML format. What is the problem you are facing here?

Good evening!
I have a WebUserControl which has 2 textboxes (Username and Password ) and one ImageButton. ( They represent the user login )
The password textbox is rendered as
...<input type="password"...
and the imagebutton is rendered as
....<input type="submit"...
Everything worked fine but when i used in a real situation i realized that i had to have more ImageButtons used in other controls which are rendered as
...<input type="submit"...
, so whenever i click one of those buttons, Firefox asks me if i want to remember my apssword ( the browser is confused if the button is used for password submit ).
Is there a way to specify which button is for the password submit so firefox wont be confused?
If not ..... is there a workaround ?
Regards, Hris

I think this is not possible.
When posting the request to server, browsers will check for password fields and alert user about saving it. All you can do is to separate the functionality into multiple pages. A password update page should contain buttons that are used only for updating password.

You can use "buttons" that do not submit. Use HyperLink control. Use the ImageUrl property to set images, and NagivateUrl to set the page to navigate to. However, you won't be able to catch the click event in a postback, so you must pass any parameters in the NavigateUrl property.
