Hmm...tried what you said. It didnt make it disappear. does the fact that the progressbar is in a status bar have anything to do with it?
Thanks,

When compiling a DLL, a PDB file is generated to help debugging.
The PDB file path is hard coded in the DLL file (at the end of it).
PB: When the DLL file is moved in another directory, the PDB file which is loaded is always the old one.
Q: How to modify the project to not have this hard coded path or how to patch the DLL to modify this path ?
Thanks

Of course..., but I'm looking for a solution that doesn't need any compilation or link.

This error means "Username cannot be found". Does this help?

It is a lovely language, but it takes a very long time to say anything in it, because we do not say anything in it, unless it is worth taking a very long time to say, and to listen to.

Add the following in CYourApp::InitInstance.
...
CCommandLineInfo cmdInfo;
ParseCommandLine(cmdInfo);
if (CCommandLineInfo::FileNew == cmdInfo.m_nShellCommand)
{
cmdInfo.m_nShellCommand = CCommandLineInfo::FileNothing;
}

Those things are called "splash screen".
There're plenty of tutorials and libraries about that topic here on this site.
In fact the splash screen doesn't open before your program, but at the start of it.

Can you give me the links ???

In vC6, to to 'Project Menu', then 'Add To Project' and 'Components and Controls'. The window will open. Go to the 'Visual C++' components and select 'Splash screen'.

Hey all, I trying to use the ListCtrl class in a program and I'm quite new to this, I though if i made my view a CListCtrl instead of CWnd and change the .Create etc. it would use a ListCtrl as the main view, it compiles fine but the view never updates, and shows whatever was on the screen before.
I've been looking for tutorials or examples of this but could only find the article on here that shows adding it to a dialoged based app. so if anyone could give me a hand or has a link to a good tute, that would be great.

What headerfile and library do I have to include in my project so I can use StringCch...-functions like StringCchCopyW and StringCchPrintEx?

Ok, have to include strsafe.h and strsafe.lib
Can anyone tell me what api this is? I don't have this library.
I hope it isn't the *$@# ms platform skd. I cannot install that one cause there are some major problems in some of the dll's. Like entry points that are changed so half of my installed programs like "cakewalk sonar xl 2" don't work anymore cause they need the old entries.

It seems it is. The MSDN page says that you need to go to SDK Update Site to download

Damn
I've changed to the regular sprintf stuff If strings are too long then they are too long. point! I'm not going to check 'em (only if exception occurs someday)
Another question. Have you installed the platform sdk? I had some trouble especially with the msimg.dll and the getgradientpane call.

Are you C-hardcore type? Or using std::string or even CString isn't an option?
Grote Smurf wrote:

No. I don't have any reasons for that. Sometimes I need some #define, but I just insert it into app source.

In fact, I've copy-pasted some code and I didn't notice the hundreds of stringcch... stuff in it.
I'm hardcore lot of things, but hardcore-c, no that I'm not . I know cstring though, but it's not an option here.
