Lockout happens when someone has tried to log in with the wrong password more times than allowed.
This doesn't happen to everyone unless there is something seriously wrong in the system.
I would run a complete viruscheck immediately on the whole system.

Hi, I have run disk degragement on my computer after it prompt me that I should run disk defragement. After I run it, its display the following result:

I guess most people make the decision based on total and file fragmentation percentages. Your fragmentation is very low, and in my opinion would not require defragmentation.

I would recommend you to use Smart Defrag[^]. It automatically runs in the background and defragments drive. It uses low system resources and is very effective.

Dear All,
I have windows vista home, i installed Adobe Acrobat 8 pro. , the acrobat is running well.
The problem is that when i goto "printers and faxes" i cant find the "Adobe PDF" printer, implies i cant print documents to PDF to convert them.
Any help??
Note: Is it i want to update to service pack one?

List as much about your computer as possible. This includes operating system (what version of Windows you are using), service packs, computer make/model, RAM, hard drive, sound and video cards, current adware/spyware/virus programs being used on a regular basis, do you have a "real" Windows CD, etc.
Post in the appropriate forum. Do not start a thread in "Programming" if you need help with a specific program. That would go in "Software". If you post in the DOS forum please specify if it is "real DOS" and what version or some sort of Command Prompt from with Windows, and what version of Windows. There are differences some subtle, and some very important. These tips ensure that the people most likely to help will see your posts.
Don't "hijack" someone else's thread. Though you problem may sound similar it is a rude practice and the real issues and solutions may be very different. Click on "Start New Subject".
Make sure to click the Spell Check button before posting your question or reply.
Use an intelligent title. "Help Me Now" is not as likely to get you help from the appropriate people as quickly as "Smoke Coming From Power Supply"
Do not make multiple posts in different areas for the same issue. That merely confuses things and they will probably be deleted.
Be as thorough as possible with your description of your problem. What happens exactly, error messages, if any, what happened before this started, what you have tried, are you the only user, type of internet connection, what you have done inside the case, etc.
Keep your computer safe. Use the suggested FREE spyware/adware/antivirus programs. Click here for a great post listing these programs.
Realize that this is a volunteer forum. Don't expect instant solutions to all of your problems or be abusive to those who try to help. We donate our time as we can. If you want to pay $75+ an hour for support, there are plenty of repair shops that can and will take your money. We cannot see your machine. We can only suggest based on the pertinent data you post. Hi,
I am registering driver using Install shield and creates entry in \HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\MyDriver registry key. But some times when I restart m/c then this entry is not present and I am unable to communicate with drive. I dont know the reason of unregistering driver (.SYS file). Could any one suggest is there any other way by which we can register driver at system boot time or this is the only way by which we can load the driver.
I dont want to load driver dynamically.

Hi, I have a purpose of calculating the printer ink or toner that will use on the paper that I print. Some document I print one page full with text in color/black and some document contain text and a picture.
I want to charge from my customer based on the printer ink/toner that is using in each page. But I do not know which tool or software that is going to do that.
I have check with the software that provide by the printer but it just display the printer ink only. Which is available in the printer, which is not what I want.
If any one know the tool on how to do it, please let me know.

It's very unlikely you'll ever get the exact ink/toner used on a page. Since the number can vary because of density adjustments and the exact ink/toner converage on a page. Also, most printers and drivers won't even expose this kind of infomration, IF they track it at all.

Hi, I have an internet connection ADSL speed 128kb which is going to be connect to my office. As far as I know, ISA could improve the speed of internet. From here I have an idea to configure cahcing on ISA machine which also equip with network card and hard disk as much as possible. The hard disk is going to configure as dynamic disk as RAID 5 to improve disk performance.
On the other machine which is acting as DNS server I also plan to configure this machine as a multi-home which equipt many network card as much as possible too (around 3 or 4) in order to configure those network card to listent for DNS query.
Base on my above about purpose, do you think that this configuration will help to improve my internet speed to my client machine?

No, it won't. At best, you'll get better performance out of the pages that are already cached and NOT updated. But, you're bottleneck is STILL going to be that horrible little ADSL line. There's just nothing you can do to improve the speed of that connection without replacing it without something faster, like a cable modem, T1 or T3 line.

What did I just say?? NOTHING you do, short of replacing your connection to the Internet, will improve any download speeds. You will get an apparent performance increase if you use a caching server, but you will see NO increase in performance for stuff that ahs not been previously downloaded and stuff who's cache time has expired.

Ok, one more question related to internet connection speed. I have connect with the comapny with ADSL speed 128 Kb but when I download the file I found the download speed is remain to only 20Kb. So why the speed is reduce like this? Thank

The 128K is the theoretical top speed of the connection between your modem and the ISP. It does not take into consideration the DSL line quality, the quality and workload of other links between routers in your ISP's network that you may be using (without knowing it), nor does it take into account Internet router workload, link quality, numbers of hop, the sending server's network condition and load, server sending speed, the workload on the sending server, your machine's workload, the phase of the moon, ...

I have DELL LATITUDE D810. I did formatting. I installed WinXP SP3.
I installed all the drivers and when checking them in the "Device Manager" , all drivers seen to be installed.
But the network card and the wireless icon never shows in the end of the toolbar near the clock and date.
Also when i goto "View Network Connections" nothing found (not the network card nor the wireless icon).
When i click refresh (F5 button) a windows shows and says the following: " The Network Connections Folder was unable to retrieve the list of network adapters on your machine.
Please make sure that the Network Connections service is enabled and running."
I get to Services through Services and Applications, and started the service "Network Connections".
Going back to "View Network connections" , i can see the network card and wireless icons. when i restart the laptop, EVERY THING GOES BACK AS IT WAS BEFORE. No network card and wireless icon.
ANY HELP.

Hi
I have developed an application with multi language support, in which I am using CHOOSECOLOR structure and custom dialog to display colordialog. The issue is that the dialog is comming only in english when I change to other language. But it is present in all other language resource dlls. Can any one suggest some solutions how I can debug this issue.
