Morning.
I have an 1 hour break and 2, 15 Minute tea breaks.
As much as that sounds great, there isn't much to do if you don't have an appointment to pick up your car or go to the bank.
I get very irretated if I have nothing to do, therefore I never take my breaks. Instead, I leave earlier and expect no one to complain as i only leave half an hour earlier.
This saves me some traffic and I keep busy the whole day. I use to complain, that we only had half an hour a day lunch and fought a grusome battle to get this hour and a half, and only to realize that it was actually useless in my case.
Not taking a break, except for making some cofee twice a day and when "nature" calls in exchange for one and a half hour traffic that i miss, I dont think this is such a raw deal.

If you count visits to the toilet and drinking water, then I have five or more breaks.
Everyday I have 30min lunch break and one or two tea breaks (5-10min).

Absolutely!
If one were really dedicated, they'd bring a laptop along to a facilites visitation. The wise employer supplies a power socket next to each porcelin conveninece, lest productivity be limited by battery life.

Do you really spend long enough on the throne to run down your battery? Sheesh, you got problems. Either get a new battery, or cut down on the prunes.

- 30 secs or less (super mega karsherman/woman)
- 1 minute
- 5 minutes
- 10 minutes or more (yes i play sudoku at work)

No - I was commenting on the previous post wherein a journey to the facilites was deemed a break if it took 15 minutes.
Similarly, if one is TRUELY DEDICATED, one keeps several large jars adjacent to their work station. The fanatic may, in fact, perch on one of said jars. (At this point, I've nearly come full circle).

5 mins per hour Input cycle) to grab a power snack, cup of java or refill the water source.
Whenever on the (Output cycle) typical 2-15 mins depending on type;
....#1 depending on distance to the loo
... #2 depends on how thick the mag/book you grab on the way in.
Once per hour when it's drudge work slogging through old code or paperwork. The stretch is needed. On an interesting project, I may exceed 3 hours before realizing it's necessary to step away!

I, of course, count getting coffee at Starbucks, short lunch, afternoon walk-away, as-needed restroom visits, checking external e-mail, visiting Code Project, jumping in and doing a couple of non work-related tasks, reading industry-related e-papers, etc. And I seem to still be pretty productive. . .

I tend to only work as much as required to accomplish the mutual goals of the client and myself. 
However I will perform inhuman acts of blitzkreig-marathon coding if I am paid in amounts sufficient to convince me to do so. Or if offered ritual human sacrifice. 
Though I do, of course, prefer predominately monetary offerings.

I know the subject is "in general" but really, there is no standard, 0-6 depending on the day, workload, number of guests, meetings, and projects in the pipeline. I may go a 12 hour day with no break, sometimes even forgetting lunch, other days, I feel like taking more breaks than work. There is not any standard.

This is exactly how I operate as well. It all depends on what my goals are for the day and what's going on. Many days I'll go 12+ hours with no break. Other days I may take a whole day off...one of the benefits of working for myself.

I'm the same way. Although, forgetting lunch I do not do. I gotta maintain my awesome physique you know.

In India, it is a custom that the standard work day has two tea (short) breaks and a long break in the afternoon for lunch. Well! But if there is a pressing demand on a deliverable, this would go for a change too.
