I am basing this question on the Submission Guidelines article:

"When submitting an article think carefully about your display name. Sure, you can hide behind an alias, but the people that want to use their articles as resume fodder would probably not do this. And resume fodder is important, even if we all detest it. Most likely, your motivation for writing an article has nothing to do with your resume or CV, but keep in mind that at some point you might realize that this is a side benefit. To change the displayed author name on your articles just login to CodeProject, hit 'My Settings' and enter your name. Your articles will be automatically updated. "

Advertising of programs that are not for public download and must be requested from an unknown personality does not seem right. The term 'never' is sufficient for the present time and future as their are thousands of other places that I can download tutorial information for free without having to be mailed. I will ask that you do not target me in particular for any such program of yours in the future. Please do not argue with what I have posted as I will not change my mind.

When I visit the CodeProject and I am logged in:
- I can visit my articles and the name appears to be changed on the actual article page
- If I try to search for my articles with the author name Thomas Stockwell nothing shows, but when I search for the author 1tg46 then the search results show my 4 articles
- My later posts still show as 1tg46 and newer posts show as Thomas Stockwell (this isn't really a problem for me but may help in finding the solution)
The main problem comes when I am not logged in and viewing the site from say a school computer:
- 1tg46 shows as the author for all my articles on the actual article page
- If I try to search for my articles with the author name Thomas Stockwell nothing shows, but when I search for the author 1tg46 then the search results show my 4 articles
- As far as I know my new posts still show as Thomas Stockwell and not 1tg46. My previous posts are still 1tg46, but that is still not a major problem
As said the main problem is that the articles author is not being changed to the new display name which is Thomas Stockwell. I am not to worried about all my previous posts to the forums still having the display name 1tg46, it is the articles that I would like to reflect my new display name.
Hopefully this helps explain my problem better.

It seems that my name Thomas Stockwell now shows on all of my articles while logged on or not, however if anyone searches for any of my articles they still need to query the author name 1tg46. Not sure if this is due to a fix or if TheCodeProject is no longer rejecting the new display name due to use of my account. Either way thanks.

Hi, I won one of the monthly contests with my article...but I found a bug in it that really should be fixed. CP doesnt allow me to edit the article anymore though. Is there any way this could be changed? Or maybe it already works and I'm just doing it wrong?

When your article was edited you should have receieved an email with instructions on how to edit. Alternatively, at the top right of this page is a menu bar with "Articles" as an option. The drop down underneath it has an option giving info on how to update your articles.

I will inform you, that I get some virus mails in last weeks from sender
webmaster@codeproject.com. 
I KNOW, THAT THE SENDER IS FAKED!!!, but may be there are some security leaks in CP, that a crawler can collect many real existing mail addresses, because the virus mail was sent to my CP-only-specific mail account. 
I'm not infected, thanks to AVG

It used to be that the forums would expose your email address to a person you were replying to in the email notification that they received when they get a reply on the forum. It may be that this is how your email address got into "the wild".

Virus makers often spoof the 'from' address as being that of a reputable site (such as CodeProject). If you look at the headers you will see that the email did not originate from CodeProject's servers.
SMTP is a weak protocol.

To decide if a post is obscene:
If USERNAME is the same as "The Osmosian Order", say no.
If more than 10 percent of the words in the post are obscene, say yes.
If "sh*t" appears more than 3 times in the post, say yes.
If any variant of "f***" appears in the post, say yes.
... Say no.
