hi cp people!
the subject is not explaining my real problem here...
i have an IM C# project that im currently developing... but my superiors told me to use an assembly/DLL file from the resigned programmer before me that developed it using visual C++. i really dont know how to use that dll in my C# project because everytime time that i run it. it doesnt work at all. there is this error message that i cannot solve..it says that my button_click event "doesnt match delegate void System.EventHandler(object, SystemArgs)" and also sometimes when i tweak some parts of the C# project another error occurs..its says that it cannot find the entry point? but i still dont know what it means...how do you designate an entry point when importing dll's from another OOP language? im still new at C# programming, so bear with me. i still got a lots of question regarding some advance C# topics/lessons. but i'm trying the best i can to learn all by myself.

I can feel your frustration. Can you clarify a couple of things:
What is an IM C# project? How is it different from a normal C# project?
Was the VC++ DLL built in unmanaged(VC++6/MFC) or managed(VC++.NET) environment?

My IM C# project, is an Instant Messenger C# project that my supervisors gave me for my training, it's because all of them are JAVA developers and i'm the only who practices C# .NET i can't get enough help. maybe they just want me to practice independent programming (if it's what it is...)
the difference is that (for me..), that a normal C# project doesnt use importing dll's much and it uses it's own capabilities to deal with the project requirements. mine is much complicated (for my own programming experience so far.) i'm almost finished with the form designs, and it's function and all. it's just that i'm stuck on the importing the dll from the unmanaged VC++6. it's just that i cant fully understand on my own how to solve the "Entry Point" part. all i know is that the "Entry Point" is the function inside the dll that i imported. i just cant figure it out how to indentify although i know what's the function is.
hope this will help on clearing some things regarding on my question.

I know such a task would be irritating to someone who isn't experienced in C#, but don't giveup yet.
There are many ways to use unmanaged dlls in your application, some hints are:
1- If you got the source, you may convert it to Visual Studio 2005 project -or wahtever you're using-, then compile it with the /CLR option. This way your Dll will be managed, and you can reference it like any other assimbly. You can find this option fomr the projects properties.
2- If it's a COM dll, you can reference it directly!! What would be the problem then??
3- If your Dll has only functions, you might want to try the DllImport attribute, check it out in the MSDN, I think it has an EntryPoint parameter
By the way: the error you mentioned in the original question, you said the event is ButtonClick, and it doesn't match your delegate. I thought they both were written by you in your C# program?? What does the Dll got to do with that??! When making events don't try to write it manually, just click on the button in the form, & it will be generated automatically.

My problem is: i have a dropdownlist1, a button1, lable1, label2; when i click into dropdownlist1 and select a number that i want, the page will re-draw dynamic TextBoxes, these TextBoxes allow u type data into. when i click button1, data in these TextBoxes is saved.

i want to read multiple pictres and to store their colors pixels value into matrix.
i need this matrix 3d...as the first 2d to the dimensions of the pictures and the third dimension to represent the number of the picture(i.e 1st picture , 2nd picture .......)

Wow, what a long post...
Anyway, StreamReader class can't read remote web pages by itself -supposingly-. You should check the System.Net namespace for classes that read html pages -eg. HttpWebRequest-
By the way, this way you will print the Html of the page. Why don't you check the WebBrowser component? It has a Print() method.

Take a look at the CryptoStream class, acts just like a stream only downside is that I don't think it will finish encrypting or decrypting until the stream is closed (I might have got this confused with the compressor streams such as Gzip but I'm not sure).

The "cool" word is a bit ill descriptive. Simply the answer to your question is another question:
What did you see in those applications that made you say they are "cool"?
If you already know that answer, then do the same in your applications, but of course in an innovative way -not imitative, ie. don't just copy ideas-
Some hints that might be useful:
1- Your user interface must be compact, user friendly -ie. relaxing to the eye at first look-, yet efficient
2- Your application must have a "genuine" idea -Perhaps this is the most important thing-
3- Your application must be easy to learn, and for advanced features, there should be tutorials or "easy to get" helps
4- Preferably support both beginner, and advanced users
These are not -must follow- rules, just few hints.
