I am now lost, becuase he modified the post that started this line of conversation. It now duplicates my original answer to the original posters quesion.
But yah, you are correct that a strcpy() or equivalent would be required in that case. Although he originally was allocating it with "new (char)" and not "new char[10]", but since the original post does not exist any more the point is mot (or whatever).

Yup! Once he started modifying the origin of the thread, then nothing following it made any since any more. I am amazed at the traffic this questioned generated, because the same question is on the board almost every time I decide to drop by.
By the way what is with the little person that is running (or what ever) in you signature section and how did you get it there. I am not a Web guy, but I find it fasinating and distracting since I can only see pieces at a time.

Yah! He does look like he has a problem. My only problem at the mement is that it is porrying down rain outside and I can not save water by stepping out and taking a shower, because I have neighbors (blast it). Anyway it is 8 hours passed bed time so I will drop by on anouther day.

Hi,
I need to create standalone .exe files from my own program. An .exe will simply play back a small video file when opened.
This .exe needs to be independant and can't rely on the video file being seperate, it must somehow be embedded in the .exe (as a resource maybe).

I would need to experiment, but you should be able to include it as an external binary source file in your resource file. If you do that then it becomes part of the program and you can access it through a resource ID. In VC 6.0 it would be as simple as selecting include external source file from a drop down menu, in .NET I have no idea.

Well, i assume you already know those native Win32 apis. You can check out the articles here. Here's a good one to start off.

The API includes all the functions that actually draw all the buttons, menus, and etcetera. MFC just wraps those calls in a C++ front end, so you do not need to see them. In a programming environment that includes them you always have access to them. It should be just a matter or looking up there names. I do not know if .NET provides this for them, but in VC 6.0 you can type “::” and a drop list will normally appear listing everything. Other wise you will need to look them up in the MSDN help library.

Sir,
Now I waana write a program by which my user can change the current windows account password.
So,at first I should check the string typed by my user to see if it's the correct current windows
account password. And then write down the new password offered by my user to the correct place.
But I do not know how to retrieve the current windows account password or how to check the specified string is just the current windows account password.
Please show me the way!

There is no need for me to steal other's password but
just to let my user can change their windows password
by using my program,which we call as USB Pc-Lock.

If all you want to do is change the user's password, then check out functions like NetUserChangePassword(...). (Other ones like NetUserSetInfo(...) and NetUserGetInfo(...) might provide some additional education.)
