As iam new MFC,i know some simple codings...I need to know about API calls.
What is tht?Is there any good tutorial for that?

Well, i assume you already know those native Win32 apis. You can check out the articles here. Here's a good one to start off.

The API includes all the functions that actually draw all the buttons, menus, and etcetera. MFC just wraps those calls in a C++ front end, so you do not need to see them. In a programming environment that includes them you always have access to them. It should be just a matter or looking up there names. I do not know if .NET provides this for them, but in VC 6.0 you can type “::” and a drop list will normally appear listing everything. Other wise you will need to look them up in the MSDN help library.

Sir,
Now I waana write a program by which my user can change the current windows account password.
So,at first I should check the string typed by my user to see if it's the correct current windows
account password. And then write down the new password offered by my user to the correct place.
But I do not know how to retrieve the current windows account password or how to check the specified string is just the current windows account password.
Please show me the way!

Hi!Alok,
Thank you all.
There is no need for me to steal other's password but
just to let my user can change their windows password
by using my program,which we call as USB Pc-Lock.

If all you want to do is change the user's password, then check out functions like NetUserChangePassword(...). (Other ones like NetUserSetInfo(...) and NetUserGetInfo(...) might provide some additional education.)

actually i get the points wrt to dialog1.i want to comapre this points in child dialog.where dialog1 points r with respect to dialog1.where as in dialog2 iam getting wrt to window.so i want to synchronize these points,

Please do not use incomplete words like “wrt” and “r”, it makes it difficult for those of use who do not speak gibberish. If you can write (draw) a point in one window (dialog) then you should be able to read it back and compare it with another point drawn on another window; the coordinate system does not changed.

How did you write them to a window without knowing how to read them. Normally you write them with a ‘set’ function (or method) and read them with a ‘get’ function, both of which use the same coordinate system.

I think you are using the wrong word “synchronize”. I assume you are talking about converting windows points (coordinates [pixels]) into dialog points (coordinates) and vise versa. I do not have time to look it up right now, but the answer is yes. To get a get a better answer you will need to narrow you question a bit. Are you talking about screen coordinates, client coordinates, or an actual windows coordinates (which includes title bar and all)? The current position of the mouse could be in screen or client coordinates, depending on where the information is coming from. If it is coming from a message then it is probably in client coordinates. There are functions to handle the conversions for you or you may be able to write your own. In any case the information is buried in the help system some where.
Please be more specific and someone else will be able to answer you question in more specific terms.

When i use my application, if any error is logged in the event viewer relevant to my application, i need some sort of notification.
