I created ChildForm with ControlView had multi Cells on it. One cell of them, I want to add a Combobox. When I clicking on Combobox then show droplist will get data from a table on my Database. I'm VB.NET beginner, Plz help me. Thanks.

For all apps, or just your current app?
If for all apps you need to use the Setprinter API call.
If for your app, set the printer's resolution through the PageSettings.PrinterResolution property to a valid PrinterResolution instance available through the PrinterResolutions collection.

Hello people! I have this task to complete and I need help, not that I need complete solutions, just need tips, and how-tos about dialup/peer-to-peer programming in vb/vb.net
My idea for the program im building is like this
commandline : Qxdialer telno userid password
Qxdialer is my project which takes three parameters, a telno to dialup, a userid and the appropriate password.. then some processing will be done, file transfers and the like, then after my processing is completed, Qxdialer will disconnect the connection.
I've been reading, downloading articles, there's some bits and pieces that I see which are useful like API's, wininet.dll, rasapi.dll, rasapi32.dll, api function calls and I'm quite lost..
Basically, my goals are these..
1. to make a dialup connections (unattended)
2. after a conn is made, do some processing
3. disconnect the connection (unattended)
If anybody out there would be kind enough to enlighten on how to do these, I'd be eternally grateful as I am quite a newbie when it comes to api calls, active x stuff, sockets, and other advanced stuff.
all ideas will be appreciated. many many thanks in advance.

I was wondering if you ever heard back from anyone about this? I'm looking to do a similar thing in VB.NET and can't find any help online at all.
I've never coded in VB.NET before so I'm a little confused as to the format everything is meant to be in... If you know how to do it now and are able to help me that would be great!

You compile a .NET program against a version of the .NET Framework (1.0, 1.1 or 2.0).
You can run the compiled program on any version of Windows that supports that version of the .NET framework - currently WinXP back to Win98 - simply install the correct version for your compiled program.
Note that the frameworks are backward compatible so you can run a 1.1 program on a system with 2.0 installed.

Your vb.net application is require .net framework install on the target machine that you are prefer to be deploy. The first original .net framework is version 1.0 which support windows 98. Now .net framework release version 2.0 and i suggest you to reads its documentation for the supported operating system for this current version.

You can't make a form child of another child.
you have to set the parent property to the main form.
A form can't be parent and child together.
You get the following error
An unhandled exception of type 'System.ArgumentException' occurred in system.windows.forms.dll
Additional information: A form cannot be both an MDI child and MDI parent
so the parent must be the main form not the the child.

Hi all,
I have a program that does searching, paging and sorting. When a user performs a search to narrow down a number of records from the orginal list (i.e, 100 records) to any records that less than the original list. At a returned page, when he/she clicks on any column header to sort that column in ASC or DESC order, it takes them back to the original list (that is already sorted in ASC or DESC order) and losing the search results. I like to fix this to allow users to perfom sorting any column and stay on the same returned search page when they click on the column header. Does anyone know how to resolve this? Note: it works fine on the original list.
Any help is appreciated.

with this methode i update the DB
i just create all the datatables with the same methode that mean i use the same command & the same adapter to fill the data set is that wrong ??
what i know is that the data adapter is just a bridge or not a bridge it uses the command to access DB extract rows & fill the dataset that mean he don't have tables in on something
then why it don't want to update in the DB ??
i built two data tables with the same methode AddTable()
but when i wanted just to update one table "Room"

it threw an exception

No it didn't say in the connection
it just colored the line :

in green & it threw "Erreur Systeme" i use the french edition

Being new to VB.NET, I'm using the form wizard to get me started on a small app.
I've used the form wizard to create my form, and I've put the fields into a tab control on tab 1.
There is probably a better way of doing the next bit, but on tab 2, I want a subform so that I can cheat, and use the form wizard to create my second form, and have tab 2 'look' at my other wizard generated sub form.
Is this possible?

you mean u used the form wizard to create a data form? and then created a tabcontrol and cuted - paste all the labels, textboxes, buttons etc... inside the tabcontrol ???
and now you want to make a clone of the tabpage1?

I did the cut and paste as you describe into tab 1.
I then created tab 2, and now I want my subform in tab 2.
By subform, I mean something along the lines of MS Access' subform - a form within a form.
To be honest ... I figured out how to do what I needed to do without the subform and wizard on this occasion, but I'd still like to know how to create subforms for future reference.

I don't know your code but you don't need tabcontrol at all. Try making a button in your first form and place the followincode

I am trying to use the ReportViewer control in VS2005 (VB). I have set up a report, and it works great to use a set query to fill the reports. I would like to allow the user to enter data at run time, and then generate a query to create a new dataset. I would then like the report to use this new dataset as its datasource.
There seems to be a lot out there on Crystal, but not much for the ReportViewer that comes with VS2005. Can anyone help me with changing the data source of the report at runtime?

Hi there,
I just upgraded an interactive app for traffic & transportation modeling to vb.net, it works excellent and its fast contrary to expectations. however i got a huge problem. everytime any control gets repainted, the graphics or the simulation running disappears. so i browsed through the internet and learned that i have to override the Paint function and make everything to be drawn to go out from teh picture or panel paint function. this works excellent in small cases and apps, but i got about 25 classes and 20 forms ? each of these classes generates a part of the simulation. does anyone know how i can keep my GDI+ graphics from disappearing, with an actual code.
