how can i call one form's procedure from another form.i have created an object of first form and call ,it works but the values in the first form is not changed.

I guess You are using VB.Net...
It wont update because they are different objects...

If they are both of the same type, you can make the method static, which would mean it can't access any member variables. Either way, you can use delegates to hook methods between classes.

Hi All
I am having a requirement to apply for a font (Frutiger 55 Roman) over my label on a windows form. I have installed this font and I couldn't see in the Font dialog box of the label property section during design time.
I have tried to apply this font during run time, but also I didn't get that font and instead Microsoft Sans Serif font has come.
How can I apply this new font over the label?
If any one has solution please share it with me.

You can the get the available fonts in VS using
comboBox1.Items.AddRange(FontFamily.Families);
To change the font
label1.Font = new Font ("Courier", 10, FontStyle.Bold);

If your font doesn't show up, it's possible that it's corrupted.
Try going into the Fonts folder in C:\Windows and seeing if the font is listed, then double-click it to get a "test" page showing your font.

I have a color picker control on a form VB.Net form. When I select a color it changes the color of the txt on a label on the form. How can I save this value to the underlying Access database? The form and it's fields are already linked to the dataset, table and database etc.
Basically I want the end user to be able to pick, then save say the company's color to the database.
1. What "type" field should the field in the Access table be?
2. What code do I use to commit the selected color's value to the database?

The type is an 32-bit Integer. You then have to get the value of the color your user picked as an Integer, then just save that value.

RichTextBox1.SaveFile (any file you want)
E.g.: RichTextBox1.SaveFile (“C:\myfile.rtf”)
You can load it by
RichTextBox1.LoadFile (“C:\myfile.rtf”)

That overwrites the existing file.
I want to append to the existing file.

It can't be done using the SaveFile method. It only overwrites.
IIRC, because of the format of an RTF file, you have to load the file you want to append to, add your new data to the end of that, then resave the file, overwriting the entire file with the new version.

I am using crystal report 8 and vb.net 2002. I want to display photos or images at runtime within crystal reports based on some criteria. For examplae display employee photos based on employee ID provided at runtime.

your images are in the database or in specific path?.
you can bind directly to the report if it is in db.
or u need to insert picturebox to do manual

Goto www.smartdraw.com and look for their tutorials. For a greater in-depth understanding of systems analysis, get a good book such as Sommerville - Software Engineering or perhaps Whitten - Systems Analysis and Design Methods.

I need to create a VB 6 string variable, in a VB.Net app. I then need to send it to an unmanaged API. (If I send a VB.Net string class, the receiving API blows up; it does not recognize the class. It needs a VB 6 string variable.). Does anyone know how to do this?

If you want to fill a 3d array you will need 3 nested loops.
Or you can manually set every index

Hi,
My apllication gives error when I try to open the oledb connection. "CreateActCtxW could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32". This windows app is running on windows server 2000. But if I run on my client machine on Win XP, it runs fine. I am using com object for excel 9.0.
Can anyone please help ??

I have a requrement where we need to display methods from a selected web service dynamicaly using VB6. the web service can be a c# or VB.NET webservice.
basicaly I wanted to make the User to be able to select from a list of defined webservices...
Based on selected webservice user should be displayed a list of functions available for the webservice.
any idea how to do in VB?

i connect the Crystal report to my application...
now when i open the form that contains the CR, a popup form request the server name and database and usename and password,
i tried every tried every propability, but "Can't connect"
???

pl. check ur db server name, user id, and password.
and make sure u must have access to the server.
