No. It was in the Philippines, and I was on fo'csl (forecastle) watch.

Ah, but if you use bacon grease...
You'll never get very far if all you do is follow instructions.

Bacon grease would do in a pinch, but I actually use axle grease to protect the mnetal, and gun oil to lube the interesting parts.

Ah, yes... nothing better! I just cleaned all the big toys last week, and the sweet scent of Hoppe's #9 still lingers faintly.
I'm loading up another 500 rds of 9mm Luger for my new Sig P938 tonight. Hopefully I can get back to the range after work one night soon.

I stopped using Hoppe's because the wife was complaining about the smell. I told her it was one of the odors of freedom, but the conversation quickly degenerated into wondering if my farts were too ...

If they're derived from bacon, of course they are!
So what do you use in its place? I'd like to find something that works well for copper fouling, as well as the usual powder residue, since my .243 leaves a little Cu on the lands every time I shoot it. I suppose I could back off the 3000 fps loading I'm making, but what's the fun in that?

I think it's called M-Pro7.
I use axle grease for metal protection (parts can go for as much as two years without a fresh coating) and lubing slides, and gun oil for rotating parts.

May I have either the firearm or the bacon , either will work should i ever need to kill my boss. I think he weighs 400 pounds, bacon might actually do the job faster.

Probably quieter, too, unless he happens to collapse against the water cooler.

The sound made by the hammer hitting an empty chamber sounds the same to everyone.
The meaning of that sound is directly related to which end of the gun is pointed at you.

That's known as the "death click". If you needed to pull the trigger and heard that noise, you're now dead.
|
|

When a 1911 is empty, the slide locks backwards and you can't pull the trigger, thus, no "death click". When a 1911 is emptied, the sound you hear is generally a loudly exclaimed expletive followed by the sound of dull tuds on a human skull, because a 1911 has enough weight to be used as a battering weapon, where your typical sissy plastic guns (aka "Glocks") do not.

I am glad to see that some people never change. I do have to say that I wish my farts smelled like Hoppe's 9.
Equally glad to see that bacon is still the food of choice for some people here.

I never change. I prefer to think of it as a modification of tactics.

Indeed, that would a significant improvement for most. But think how many more friends you'd have tagging along if they smelled like bacon!

I keep getting/looking lot of irregular format of JSON output from MongoDB. Is it me and anyone else got the same issue ? It just bring lot of unnecessary recoding. So sad to see MongoDB abuses JSON like this.

First, isn't JSON inherently ripe for abuse?

Second, why are you abusing yourself?
