Jesus Garth, the skin got a bit thin or what? Thought a bit shite flinging between the Kiwis and the Aussies was a given.

Not a problem, sh*tty moods when appropriate. Hope things improve.

Sorry to hear that. Hope thing get better the next time. Sometime I felt like interview is another opportunity to discover new thing that you didn't know, learn how people ask question. If you don't get the job that fine, at least you get some idea what the employers are looking for. Go back do some study/ homework, be prepared and try another time.

You mean making coffee isn't just about throwing a stone in a random direction and going to whichever starbucks it lands on?

That is not true of the fresh graduates I've come across (In my part of the world graduate means having been to University or Technical College). Unfortunately the problem in Q&A is mostly lack of quality training and formal education. In fact in Q&A there are countless examples of people actually claiming to be senior developers asking absolutely trivial questions.

The important thing college doesn't teach you - how to learn for yourself.

You aren't expected to learn independently until grad school.

Businesses don't have time, finance or resources to train .net developers any more as they're all curtting costs, and Universities seem to teach Java, PHP and Javascript as it's much cheaper to set up labs with Linux than Windows [although with .net core that might change, though I wouldn't bank on it].

I agreed. If an employer willing to give you opportunity to learn in their environment , that awesome. Else you have to setup lab and study and still need to get a job to gain real world experience

If you can't find them, you have to make them...
(or look somewhere other than jobs websites - for example any local meetup groups or indeed GitHub?)
