HI,
I hope this message finds all of you well. I wanted to bring to your attention some issues that I have encountered while using the site, in a polite and professional manner.
Firstly, I noticed that the "Articles" section of the site appears to have two entries, namely "Article 5357774" and "Article 5357797". However, I believe that this section should be empty. Can you please assist me in resolving this matter?
Additionally, I had written a "tip" about "extend HTML elements" that was initially created as an article and later changed to a tip. However, I noticed that the version of the tip that was recovered was an early version. Once completed, I previewed the tip before submitting it.
I also encountered an issue with the "Save a draft" button, which I used several times, but it did not return any feedback. As a result, I found it difficult to determine whether the copy was saved or not.
Furthermore, the link you provided did not refer to the correct tip "Inject". The correct version of the tip is available in the "inject.PDF" file that I have saved on my machine.
Lastly, I would like to bring to your attention the negative impact of a recent issue that I experienced with the site. I collaborated with the site notified, politely highlighting what had happened. However, I received four downvotes, which cost me 30 reputation points. On a positive note, someone kindly gave me 5 reputation points.
Please find attached a PDF with snapshots of what I am seeing from my side. The PDF about the "inject" is the version I saved on my machine before previewing and submitting the tip.
Thank you for your assistance and support in resolving these issues.
I apologize if the text could sound a little strange: It was created by Chat GPT to be sure I adopted a polite, professional style
Best regards,
Vincent Cento

Unable to install License Plate Reader 2.1 from Install Modules
Unable to download module 'ALPR2' from https://www.codeproject.com/KB/articles/5348853/ALPR2-2.1.zip. Error: No bytes downloaded

That module is to be available for the next release and shouldn't have been visible to V2.0.8.
Obviously we messed up a little.
We will get it fixed shortly.

Unfortuantely, I saw it available and prior to attemping to install it, I had uninstalled ALPR 1.0 module and now it is missing from the Install Modules tab, the only one listed is ALPR 2.1 and I can't figure out how to go back to 1.0 :-<

Last week I added the [Article:5357517]
The link to the article returns a black area at the center of the screen with the message:
Ticket:
Error: An error occurred in this page. The error has been recorded and the site administrator informed.
Abort, Retry, Fail?

Sometimes my discussions sidepanel will suddenly only show certain content, instead of the Latest Loung posts.
Here's a snapshot of what it is showing[^] right now.
It is only displaying the latest Weird & Wonderful posts.
This often happens after I close the site in one tab and open it in a new tab later.
I'm running FireFox (v111.0.1 (64-bit)) on Ubuntu 22.04.
UPDATE: What I've Tried
* Clicked the More... link (just shows more weird & wonderful posts)
* Refreshed browser window multiple times.
* Clicked the Fluid link (was on Fixed)
* Clicked back to the Fixed link
* Chose the Lounge directly and saw the new posts, then loaded CP home to see if I see the lounge list on the side (nope, still see weird & wonderful)
Update 2
* Logged out of CP and logged back in. Still see weird & wonderful only
(Going to go nuclear now and remove all CP cookies. )
Update 3
Removing cookies did not help.
Update 4
Loaded Brave browser (chrome-based, ya know?) and went to site logged in and I see Lounge entries in the Discussions sidepanel. (Post this from Brave).
Update 5
I'm back in FireFox now and I see the Lounge entries in the sidebar again....
I've been gaslighted!!
Thanks,

This is happening right now again (showing only Insider News posts) and I'm just curious...
...Is this a Server Side thing (and all users experience this at the same time)?
or
Is this a client-side thing?
Thanks,

45 min later I see that:
Discussions
6 Possibly the hottest mess I've seen in some time - The Weird and The Wonderful
3 I question Microsoft's documentation - The Weird and The Wonderful
5 GDMA on the ESP32S3 - The Weird and The Wonderful
10 I must be doing something wrong... - The Weird and The Wonderful
8 ChatGPT "solves" a riddle for me. - The Weird and The Wonderful

This is most likely caused by a load issue while trying to generate the list. If it's during heavy load, a recache of messages, or database maintenance then some very large forums (and the lounge is the biggest) can get dropped by the cacher.
Sorry

If you look closely, the "Parent line" doesn't run from the orphan messages to the same message as the one above it.
What happened was that the user posted a "here's some code I found, it doesn't do what I wanted" which I answered, then he deleted it so his teacher wouldn't find out. That deleted the "root question" but the children remained and look like they are part of the question above.
A glitch in the matrix is all - you can't normally delete a message with responses so it's probably a timing issue between different servers in the farm.
If it really freaks you out, I could deleted the orphans to tidy it all up, but it happens so rarely that it's not worth the hamsters putting huge amounts of time into trying to fix properly.

It's like deceiving my readers that they're thinking there is a new update but there isn't.
Please kindly look into it.

What am I missing? Why this 'copy as link' is even necessary?
One can copy this simply by right click the subject and select 'copy link'
I'm sure I'm missing seomthing

There used to be a permalink icon, I wonder if this is its replacement.
"the debugger doesn't tell me anything because this code compiles just fine" - random QA comment
"Facebook is where you tell lies to your friends. Twitter is where you tell the truth to strangers." - chriselst

Thank you for your input.
I will ask then also for a semi permalink link/icon
|
|
|
|
|
Then we should also add a semipermarandom link icon, just to mix it up a bit.
