Hi ThatRaja (and your choice of Namaste, Namaskaram, or Vannakum),
I think the question might be: would such a forum generate more spam than is currently being generated ?
There is, from time to time, on the Lounge unsolicited testimonial, and discussion, of major vendors of software tools, such as the recent favorable comments, and discussion of, DevXPress' .NET offerings, which I, and other people on the Lounge, really appreciated.
In the case of under US $100 software, my opinion is that the companies involved are probably not potential CP advertisers.
Personally, I'd trust CP members to give honest opinions, free of self-promotion.
But, I am making a "suggestion" here, and have no "agenda" beyond making a proposal. Certainly, I am not able to see things from the "high altitude" of CP's staff.

Sounds like you were in India for some time.
Well Bill, I just mentioned the possibility & also you can find the [not-sure ] smiley in my message. So I'm not sure about that. Based on my reply CP team may create any restriction/something in your suggestion, That's it.

Agree.

Got it.

Yes, like for the member's messages.
SAKryukov's comments page[^] takes more time to load because the count is 11K+ but my comments page[^] loading quickly because my comments count is just 1K+
So Paging will be fine. Page size 1000 is fine(based on my comments page loading experience).

what is the use of this comment listing anyway? the indentation seems pointless, and you can't tell what gets commented on, without clicking the "View" widget.
The message listings are much more useful as they provide context information; unfortunately they are limited to 4 pages of 50 messages each. Discrimination it is.

Agree. Actually I'm checking any replies for my recent comments because still some Q/A enquirers don't use the reply link on the comment(They are just creating new comment below to my comment. And My idea is to reduce the load in that page by implementing paging.
But, I can search the text in that comment page(using firefox search) with out using CP search.(Actually I was searching something based on keyword from SA's reply).

Also I want more. At least they may increase more like the Reputation History page.

Even if it loads fast, your page was 2.5MB in size. SAkryukov's was almost 30MB. Either way that's excessive...

Quick, somebody make an entry in Coding Horrors before Chris fixes it.

This was an oversight. I've put in a limit of 200 messages and will update the UI to reflect this while we work to put in proper paging.

I voted this article a 5 and put in a message in the little dialog that popped up. The vote seemed to apply fine (even showed up in my reputation history), but the comment did not post (unless it's a caching issue, but I'm guessing not). This isn't the first time this has happened recently, and somebody else told me this happened to them when they were voting on one of my articles recently. Pretty sure you have a bug on your hands.

Go to his member page and report him. There's no reason to tolerate people like that. Like you did, I noticed some incorrect things about the code he posted, that never would have compiled. He's obviously not giving an accurate picture, and I don't think he knows how to use the debugger. He's a cookbook programmer. Report him, and have a beer on me.

I Agree.. I wouldnt even go as far as calling him a Programmer..

The guy is clearly a bit of a prat but I don't see him downvoting you; are you sure it's him?

He's actually commented about 5ing the OP's posts, so it seems he's throwing a few 5s in now.

he changed those 5s to 1s right as I was trying to help him more... that's why I know it was him... there was a post with 2 5's, one from SA and one from him, after he got angry that changed to one 5 and one 1, then a bunch of other -4s started following me around (since that's all he can subtract with his status).

see my comment to nishant, he started by 5'ing then changed his votes

Upvoting rather. He seems to have given you a few 5s (based on his comments) to try and get on your good side.
