Dang.. I replied to you in the lounge and it got moved... lost my post
Oh well summary of it was: #1 has been suggested here before & would definitely be a great feature so you can kind of gauge how useful your code actually is.

And the reply didn't chase the moving thread?

True. As the articles mature into versions, there should be a provision to have the Votes/Ratings should be reset (optionally) for next updates.

If we do this then we'll have people sending in trivial updates each time they feel their article is being rated too low.

I think that it would be great if CP had a section which consisted of lists of blogs authored by CPians. Since many of us have blogs that we'd like to share with others, it would be 'nice' if we could somehow share links to our blogs with each other here on CP. Perhaps break up the category, such as 'ASP.NET Blogs', 'WinFx Blogs' etc.
Maybe there would be some minimum criteria to have your blog be rolled, such as you must have submitted at least 3 or 5 articles on CP in the past year, just to keep people from joining CP in order to add their blog to the rolls.

I think you should add PHP to the list of languages in the member profile stuff.

Since PHP is still a marketable skill, I think it belongs in the list just as much as Perl does.

Noticed on the snazzy new green menu bar that I have an extra "e" just to the right of the word "Lounge". If I click it, it sends me to the Lounge.
Ubuntu 6.06 LTS running Firefox 1.5.0.5 at 1024x768
This extra "e" does not display on Windows XP running IE7 B3 at 1280x1024

i think it comes from the fact that the menu actually overlaps 5 other items (in the case when the menu is not fully loaded yet), and sometimes, it isn't positioned very well.
then, i think the "e" you see is the trailing "e" of the "Lounge" overlapped...

All true, yet it's still a bug that I'm sure Chris would like to hear about.

seems to be back in form, today. Either column on the left has gotten wider or the forum column has been made wider. But it seems that any forum I go to now, I have a horizontal scroll bar to scroll for about 25 maybe 50 pixels. ( IE 6 on a 1024 x 768 screen). Thanks.

Yeah, I noticed the page have become wider. I tweak one thing, another thing breaks I'll look into it.

We need some sort of fancy "flow layout" system for websites like they have for WinForms apps now.

Things seem pretty good now. That last tweak must have done it.
Thanks.

I think you need to look into it again.
I think it is happening in the part of the page that has a three column list of all the forums with their post counts. For some reason it just seems to be creeping wider each day.

This is a weird one. It could be a message or subject line in a forum message that's doing it. Next time you see it take a look at every message and let me know if you see anything suspect

I may have overlooked a wide or long subject line, cause I have noticed it happen a couple of other times. I'll pay closer attention next time, though.

I've found out what it is that is causing it.
1). Run IE maximized and the forums show normal with no horizontal scrolling.
2). Click the 'Restore Down' button and size the window so that a horizontal scrollbar appears. But make the window sized so that it still takes up about 95% of the width of the screen.
3). Click the 'Maximise' button. The horizontal scrollbar is still there.
I don't know why, but it depends the size that you are maximizing from in order to cause the horizontal scrollbar to stay on the screen.
Let me know if you need anything else to duplicate this.

Hi,
Do you think it would be nice if there was a search engine whith a browse button with which we could select a photo from our hard disk and the search engine finds simmilar photos?
//This is not a signature
while (I'm_alive) {
printf("I Love Programming");
}

If it is possible, then people will abuse it, like for p0rn stuff.

Well, current search engines 'image search', could be used like that either.
That way at least many boys and gils could check their friends quickly
But it has a lot of usage I think, like police might find a man in an online camera, no no idea's about it's usage, I already wasted a lot of time, no I don't let you mind ...

Searching based on what? The file name or the actual image it self? Yea, that could be handy.
BTW, I believe this board has traditionally been for suggestions concerning CP.
I'd love to help, but unfortunatley I have prior commitments monitoring the length of my grass. :Andrew Bleakley:

Didn't see that post until after I made my post; not a big deal more informational purposes. The big difference between this board and the rest is I believe Chris M gets an Email on posts here (That or he checks this one not entirely sure which).
