I dreaded this kind of answer. :(
It's a pity this is restricted to one database for the entire list of projects. Ah well I was going to use it for hobby development so it's not that big of a problem. I thought about using TFS as a image repository for photos. SVN here I come.
Thanks.

Yeah that is true. We have the TFS safe always so that's not a problem. We seem to have lost a day of work due to this on the DEV machine. It's weird and intriguing how all the code went into one huge file in the folder.

You know what the plot thickens!
I opened the huge file through Visual Studio (a random thought generated in the wild) and what do you know....
EVERY single code from the project is here in one file. How the heck does these things happen? I guess the hamsters have decided that the dev machine we have is not worthy!

I really appreciate you taking the time to write this here. Not just beginners, every developer would be required to remember this. :)
But unfortunately the problem is more Windows Oriented. I had included the Visual Studio tag as I thought it could be some weird bug.
Yeah I understand you (sometimes I have been a occasional companion answering questions in the same thread as you so I know what you go through everyday) it's just that Windows 7 seems to throw a new wonderful problem sometimes.

I think you are missing the point here. I meant that we already use TFS in response to your Revision Control answer. Development was being done yesterday and it was decided to check in once it was completed today. Only in that space of time did this incident happen. That's the reason I even asked this question here.

We already use TFS. The point here is, the machine was switched on and nobody even accessed it from what I heard. It seems like the file modification happened early in the morning (when nobody was accessing it). Do you think this could be a case of the background defrag gone wrong?
Nithin Sundar
27-Aug-13 1:44am
View
That's kind of the problem here man. The machine was not used for some time but it was still switched on. There's one file left where there were source files before and that one file is taking up a lot of space. Is this one case of automatic defrag in Win 7 gone wrong?
And by the way, I hope you did not mean to cause offence. I know the pressure you get in the Q&A (urgentz, codezz) but there's no need to be "Remember you are a software developer". Thanks.

Ah I see. Something like how Visual Studio helps with some controls with styling and all? I think you might have to customize that button into a custom control and then use it. Someone might be able to help you out here.

If you update with the exact problem people will be more happy to help. You said IIS is not working in your system. You said localhost programs are not running or so. Please be specific.
1. Is IIS itself not working?
2. If IIS is okay, have you created the proper virtual directories for your programs?

One easy way is to convert the ItemsSource bound property into a dependency property. In that, add a property changed event handler. Inside that you can sort it again.

Well it looks to me that when the ItemsSource is changed, the sorting doesn't seem to exist. How about you add a umm PropertyChanged event handler for the second grid ItemsSource and repeat the sort process.

Well only your second grid's age column requires sorting I guess? You aren't sorting anything in the first because it contains locations right?

Actually from personal experience, it did not work for me till I appended the null character. From what I read on MSDN the SQLConfigDataSource function expects the attribute string to have that null character.
I appended the null character using this and I was able to get it working. If it works for you then great!

You do not need length or anything to achieve this. See my solution. A simple concatenation is enough for this.
Nithin Sundar
26-May-11 2:27am

He needs to form that string dynamically with the '\0' inside it to pass it as a parameter to that function. He does not want to stop when he gets null characters. He needs those null characters to be present inside the string.
I might be wrong in understanding your possible solution so feel free to correct me.

I can see one thing which is wrong. In type you have given "DBNull" for the control parameter. What is DBNull? You need to give a type which is like String or so depending on what type of data you are trying to filter.

AC 97 is the onboard audio I believe. I have no idea about other audio cards but are you trying to look at sound settings or is there some problem with your application or code? Had to ask since you tagged your question as C++ and the only thing related somewhat to coding in your question is the word "Functions".

Did you check your firewall settings? I think I have seen some options related to that in some Firewall software.

Good answer.
Also @Mayur: No matter what, keep yourself up to date on .NET if that is the platform you wish to work in. Who knows, one of these days they might put you into such a project and you should be ready to take it up instantly!

From what I understand, he has done the following:
1. Developed a Windows application.
2. Deployed it through an installer file
Now he wants to upload that file on his website and allow downloading of it by clicking the appropriate download button/link in his website.

1. Do you have the proper .NET Framework installed? For example, if you have written an application targeting .NET 4.0 as you have tagged your question, do you have .NET 4.0 installed?
2. Did you debug through your code and check if you're getting an exception?

So basically what I understand is like:
1. A person can join and can refer people in this website.
2. The referred people will in turn be able to refer more people.
3. The person who refers at least 3 people gets some specified money.
4. This data will be shown in a pictorial representation.
Right? So what have you tried till now?

Okay. Let's see, you were coding(not running the program) and selecting the list of items using Intellisense. When you select a syntax suggestion from the list, the intellisense helper doesn't vanish?

Did you try adding each string manually using comboBox1.Items.Add? Does that make a difference?
Also, have you specified the default item which is selected for the combo box?

Pardon me? I didn't get you. Intellisense helps you code and it isn't part of the application you write(Unless you count the Visual Studio solution itself). It shows suggestions which make typing syntax faster and easier.

I suppose you are using this method:

Did you try giving the .rtf extension alone to both the Default Extension and the filter? Or do you specifically need to use .txt for some reason?

Refer my answer below first. You are still not doing the task in a function as stated in the question.
Nithin Sundar
1-Feb-11 0:24am

No you are confusing yourself here.
What is asked is a function written by YOU to do the task. You can use built in functions for your purpose but you should write a function which performs the task, in your case to check whether the number is divisible by 11 or not. THAT function should return a boolean value as "true" if the number was divisible and "false" if it wasn't.

I had to double back and read your question a few times to understand it properly.
For starters, I don't see much relation between your question and the program you have posted. Where's the function which was asked and where are you returning a boolean according to the requirement? And what's the "perfect number" supposed to mean?

Hmm...well there MIGHT be a way. When you don't insert into certain columns null values get inserted in them right(if they are nullable)? Perhaps you can try something with that.
I'm afraid that as far as showing specific columns goes, I'm not aware of anything else except * (to show all columns and rows) and specifying the column names themselves.

Okay so you want to give an insert statement to insert values into a table. What's the problem with that?
Can't you just go and have a look at the columns in the table and then write a simple insert statement? I don't understand what problem you are facing with this.
EDIT: And what do you mean by "a query which doesn't satisfy the above select statement"? Please elaborate.

In your stored procedure, the not exists condition seems to be dependant on the value retrieved from the FTA_ReportTbView table. The value returned by that subquery will be checked against the original query and records which match that value will be filtered out. In other words, all records which don't have that value will be shown.
Seriously though, you should have understood that by the name itself which says "not exists".

Not sure if I should add this as an answer but:
1. Look at existing e-ticket websites and understand their model. Remember that the perfect guide to becoming better at web development is by looking at other websites and understanding them. You will be amazed at what you can learn by a simple View->Source.
2. By e-ticket you are leaving this a little vague. There are many e-ticket websites. You may be targetting a Bus ticketing website or a movieplex or even trains. Once again, looking at existing websites might help you in this.
3. Once you have gotten hold of how the existing stuff works, try something with your knowledge and let us know. We will be quite happy to help!
