thanks dear,
if you want to wait for x second then use System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(30000).
put that line in your code at where you did validation.
I mean, first check in connect() method whether connection is alive or not if it is not alive then make it sleep for x second and then it will automatically done.

I've just make it best as the performance issue is there. In your case each and every time when page is loaded, connectivity will be taken place, if even you have a simple button on your page that submit the page rather than doing other thing...

The reference variable is created at the time you writing IdataReader reader = cmd.ExecuteReader();
It is possible to create a reference variable of Interface but you are not allowed to initiate an object..
and if you know the Fundamental of C++, Base type can refereed to its derived type...
here IDataReader is a base type of DataReader so it can easily point out to its derived class object...
Thanks & Regards,

I don't know why it is down voted...
This is better way instead hiding the form because there is more forms in application then hiding forms still occupy the memory, so application will be heavy loaded to memory... if you save some required value and close the form then it will take less memory to run application....
I think its better way then hiding the form.....

I don't have more idea about VB.Net but as i know index should be start with 0, if you have four field and you want access fourth field, then you should use like this....
If dr.Cells(3).Value IsNot Nothing Then
cell1 = dr.Cells(0).Value.ToString()
cell2 = dr.Cells(1).Value.ToString()
cell3 = dr.Cells(2).Value.ToString()

ya may be you are right but in one reference book i read that In c# There is two class member...
one is data member and another is member function...
and in member function there are six member...
-> Constructor
-> Finalizer
-> Property
-> Indexer
-> Methods
-> Function
so, i've asked this question...
Thanks & Regards
