Any one can make it?
I make form opaque and transparent doing
setstyle(controls.transprant,true)
setstyle(controls.opaque,true)
and
me.backcolor=color.transprant
it i make ellispe in form it looks like rounded firm
but if i move that form it have backgroud . it is not transprant form
How can i make permanent rounded form and round button?
Anyone can help me?

Do ANYONE know anything about this? I have searched hours upon hours this last week to see if anyone can acurrately answer my questions on this topic. I have been trying to get the extended properties for VB.NET 2003 ListView to work. Am I at least on the right track with:

Some of them work, some of them don't but I am throwing them all into this function call:

*I have even tried Listview1.update() after this call - I realize the one click or two click activate must be enabled in conjunction with this for it to work and have done so via the properties option of the control as well as "Or"ing it with LVS_EX_ONECLICKACTIVATE, still no dice.
Still the Hot items do not get underlined. However if I try
SendMessage(ListView1.Handle.ToInt32, Me.LVM_SETEXTENDEDLISTVIEWSTYLE, 0, Me.LVS_EX_ONECLICKACTIVATE)
The icon changes to a hand (finger pointing) and it seems as though the message is succesfull.
WHY DOES THIS WORK ON SOME AND NOT ON OTHERS!?!?
*Also before you ask, I am aware of the GETEXTENDEDSTYLES and assigning it to a variable and then "Or"'ing it into conjunction with other constants as to not turn off all other extended styles and what not. NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT THE EXTENDED STYLES OF LISTVIEWS AND/OR HOW TO SUCCESSFULLY USE THEM IN VB.NET - WHY IS THE API SUCH A TRICKY SUBJECT THAT HARDLY ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING ABOUT AND WHY DOES MICROSOFT MAKE GETTING THAT INFORMATION SO HARD?
PLEASE SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!

I have been having a lot of trouble trying to write to a database. So I thought I would do a quick test. I set up a simple output to a text file, but it wont work. It says I have to grant ASP.NET access rights.
The advice I get from asp.net is
"To grant ASP.NET write access to a file, right-click the file in Explorer, choose "Properties" and select the Security tab. Click "Add" to add the "{machinename}\ASPNET" user. Highlight the ASP.NET account, and check the Write box in the Allow column."
But when I right-click my file there is no secutity option. Can anyone tell me how to grant .net access right for my database?

Do you have your disk formatted in NTFS? I think you have to in order to use those permissions. That being said, there should be another way to set the permissions for the folder it is in. What OS and version of IIS are you running?

Assuming you are running windows xp, Right click on a text file and click open with -->choose program.., then select your program from the list (or alternatively browse for it) then check the check box on the bottom of the dialog that says "Always use the selected program...."

I am trying to insert data into a database, but it's not working. Before I put the try...catch in I was getting a "it must be an updatable query".
So what I'm thinking is that if it isn't my code, or SQL statement. Then it must be that it doesn't have access to the database. Could someone tell me how I go about giving it access?
Here is my code, just in case its a problem with any of my code.

Surely you should be closing the connection on a valid query as well as one that throws an exception? If so, then you should consider moving that code to a Finally block. Other than that, your catch block does nothing other than swallow the exception (which is bad practice - if you have a catch you must do something with it otherwise it just hides potential bugs) so you should consider removing the Catch block.
I have to admit that I don't know much about Access databases these days, but a comment I saw in the last couple of weeks would suggest that you might want to look at the permissions of your webapplication directory. Access needs to have writable permission on the folder the database is in because it needs to create a file.
If you are going to give write access to the database through your web application you should consider putting the database in the subfolder of its own so that the web application does not have write access on its root folder - as this is a potential security risk.
Don't know if it will help, but it is possibly worth a go.

The path C:\Inetpub\wwwroot\webapplication5 must have write/modify permissions otherwise you restrict the database to readonly. Access throws this error as if it were related to the sql. a bit odd but thats Microsoft.

the application was running well in one of the PC .. I uninstalled it cuz the connecting string and DB security need to be added, after installing it i got this error when i try to run an imbeded report
System.TypeInitializationException: The type initializer for "CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument" threw an exception. ---> System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80040154): COM object with CLSID {CF76A644-314B-404D-8D45-F08B51FF990B} is either not valid or not registered.
the application is working fine in one of the pc's, it was installed more than 2 months ago. But now when trying to install it in other PCs i get this error?
Please note that i have included the merge modules for CR10...so what could be missing?

I have an application in which if an error occurs then it should go to database and get the exception message.
Now the problem how can i identify types of exceptions. I know that there
exception types defined. But like in VB if there was exception number then it would have been easier to refer it from the database.
Cause one ExceptionType can have different exception messages i mean SqlException can be like conncetion not open or invalid insert statement but it will show only sqlexception.
Does anyone have any idea how to solve this.
