Sorry about your delivery mishaps. But I do want to know more about this 2KW UPS. How much? How long will it keep your system running in the real world?

£231, and the company says about 20 minutes (that's the PC, two monitors, NAS, and router / wifi). But "how long will it last" is a thorny question (internet experience is all over the place), and one I intended to find out tomorrow - but of course I can't because there is no way I'm plugging in a dropped UPS into my system... 
You can get cheaper ones, but ... my PC has an AFPC PSU, and apparently they don't like squared-off sine waves, so I wanted a pure sine wave to make sure no problems / damage occurred.
The idea is that I can ride out short power cuts and shut down gracefully after say two or three minutes, and cope with the inevitable secondary power cuts we get a few minutes after it comes back on!
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Wow. I was looking for something better than what I have, but I guess I'm already doing ok.
I have 3 APC Back-UPS XS-1300:
- One running my VM host in another room...while there's a monitor hooked up to it, it's hardly ever turned on. I've had it run over half an hour on battery only.
- One running the monitors and network gear in my home office (separate modem, router and switch); it can easily keep going for 45 minutes.
- One running the computer in my office (an Intel NUC that simply connects to the VMs hosted by my main machine). It can also go for 45 minutes.
I was given one of the UPSes, so ordinarily I'd run everything in my office off of a single one, but since I have it...splitting it this way means I can keep going longer.

I've had a few customers recently moving to iPad's/iPhone's or upgrading the same. As I am their IT, I of course know all about iThings (not). iTunes to put it bluntly sucks large donkey dick. I hate that I can only sync one way and it defaults to clearing existing content on the target side.
So I am looking for a tool that I can use to copy Photo's/Video's/Contacts/SMS/anything I forgot from the old phone. Then plug in the new phone and copy the stuff backed up to the computer, to the new device.
Does this tool exist? If so, if you have used and liked one in particular, let me know all about it.

My wife uses an adapter from the older iPad interface (not "Lightning", I don't remember the name...) to USB and copies photos etc. to our (Win7) laptop. Works without problems.
Google shows that there are as well adapters for Lightning.

They're just the charging cables disconnected from the AC Adapter. I can use Windows Explorer to copy photos and videos from the iPhone to the computer. Try and do it the other way. You need iTunes (or other tool to do it) and iTunes will copy everything from the directory of the computer to the iPhone but will delete other existing things from the iPhone.

iThingy => apply hammer...
Having said that Kies is the buggiest integration software I have ever used so it not just the iThingy company who can't get the synch right.
Don't they supply a backup facility that basically vacuums your phone to the web, giving you the ability to then restore it to the new phone. Some google foo got me this Top 10 iPhone Backup Software and Apps[^]

Haven't used that piece of sh*t for I reckon a decade. There is a free Android App you install on old and new phone, put new phone on receive and old phone on send and everything (including call history) moves across.

Saw several of those lists when I Googled, none seem to want to actually say "This one is the dog's bollocks and you should just buy it". That's why I'm asking for first hand recommendations.

You can use our 1-NET. The apps are not available for iThings at present, but one can always use a Chromium family of browsers (Chrome, Opera, Chromium, etc) or Firefox browser as endpoints to send/recv files.
We have been using it in our daily work to swap files from/to CP to/from mobile phones (mostly android) without any cables. However for i-family of things, it is less tested.
